Can anyone give me some words of wisdom?
I recently "lost" my broadband connection. A message box appeared saying "A required .DLL file.ADVPACK.DLL, was not found". [There was also an Error Starting Programme at the bottom of my screen].
After speaking to a very helpful guy at the BT Helpline, we managed to get my broadband connection back up and running..this came as quite a relief to me as my pc knowledge is minimal! The BT guy said that this file was something to do with the driver for my modem.
Having said that, everytime I start up my pc, I still get the error message as above [A required .DLL file ...etc], however everything seems to be working fine, I just close the message box and I`m away!
How can I stop the error box from displaying every time I start my pc? [Please be gentle with me...me and computers don`t mix very well!]

ok i would uninstall the software for your modem and then reinstall it, that should take care of the missing .dll file, or you can do a search on google for it and download it into your system32 directory

It's the cookie thing again. You have to eat a whole package of oreo cookies sitting right in front of your keyboard so that the crumbs can drop directly between the keys. Doing this will ensure that the cookies are absorbed directly into the memory and will start working immediately to clear up your problems.
OR
Go for plan B and listen to someone who really does know how to help
