Well, we ate at Shulas at the dolphin resort on our last trip and enjoyed it very much. My husband and I were considering returning back there on our next trip. However, I was suprised when I stumbled over the fact that there are many chains of Shula's. In fact one within 20 minutes of where we live. I guess we won't be going to Shula's in Disney since we have one so close to us. Perhaps we will give Yachtsman or Lecelliar a try.
Those who have been which of the two do you prefer and why?

I haven't been to La Cellier. But have been to Yachtsmen 3 times. Ask for Ricardo for your waiter! Food is wonderful. The lamb is as good as my Moms...steaks are very good....and the Jack Daniels mousse cake is chocolate yummy!

I was deciding between the two for our last trip. Most people seemed to prefer Yachtsman. The comparison was that Yachtsman was comparable to Ruth Chris/Morton's type places and Le Cellier was more like an outback. We went with Le cellier because we were taking kids and it seemed more child friendly. I really want to try Yachtsman though. The steaks at Le Cellier were good, but not melt in your mouth good.

You're right about children. Since Yachtsman is at one of the resorts with a conference center....if there is a conference going on you tend to get a many business type groups. I have never felt uncomfortable there in my shorts and sandals tho. And since my kids are the 4 legged kind this is something I don't really think about unless someone reminds me :)

Another vote for the Yachtsman, although Le Cellier is good also.
I like the fact that you can wait in the bar next door to the Yachtsman while you wait for your table [any excuse for a Tom Collins!]. Also it`s cool how they display the steaks and deserts on entry to the restaurant.
Ricardo is also our favourite server there.
My mouth is now watering even thinking about both of these places!

Le Cellier is our favourite restaurant at WDW so far but we haven't tried Yachtsman......yet! We are going to both restaurants this trip so i'll let you know which we preferred. We're also trying Portobello Yacht Club at DTD which comes highly recommended too. I'll let you know :eat:

I think I have already made my decision. Paulak do give me your opinion when you get back though. I want a steak that melts in my mouth as my kids and dh does to.
I must say I do have kids but am pretty lucky they always sit so well in restarunts that I am not worried. I also want them to try the chocolate puzzle for dessert. Paula, also let me know how the kids desserts are if you decide to order it for them. I think this will be the right place for us to eat. If we go I will also request for Ricardo, good service is always what we are looking for :)

We went to the Yachtsman just a couple of weeks ago and have been to Le Cellier but would recommend Yachtsman every time. The setting is much less crowded and the waiter really has time for you. My granddaughter is just 10 and was treated really well. She had a lovely steak for her dinner but her dessert was wonderful. It was a white chocolate jigsaw puzzle with little blobs of food colouring and a paint brush to make it look like an artist's palette and she had to complete the jigsaw and then colour it oh of course and then eat it together with a chocolate muffin. I wanted one!! This is my favourite restaurant in Disney.

Wow the dessert sounds like so much fun. Is it messy?
