Has anyone used Mouse Ear Vacations before? How can you tell if an online travel agent is legitimate and reputable?

Also, if I book through a travel agent, is the deposit still usually only one night's charge? When is the balance usually due?

I am hesitant to give out my credit card number unless I know of the company.

Mouse Ears is reputable (All Ears supports them,) although I've not used them.

I can only speak for Small World Travel, we process our payments directly through Disney, so the charges go direct as if you were booking yourself.

Payment depends on what you book - it's one night deposit for a room-only booking, and a $200 deposit outside of 45 days on a Dream Maker package booking.

Balance on a room booking is due at check-in, and on a Dream Maker package, it's due in full 45 days before you travel.

It all depends on what is best for your traveling party. These policies are both Disney's and Small World Travels, so I can't speak for Mouse Ears, but it gives you something to compare with.

One other thing to check with at Mouse Ears is that they usually charge a change or cancellation fee. If you book with them make sure you ask about it

I agree, I have just started planning and Mickeymac is great! (although I'm sure Cinderella is as well :D)

Thanks everyone for the info - turns out I got the reservation I wanted on my own for BWI, which wasn't availabe when I tried last week. If I need any further arranging, I'll certainly contact MickeyMac or Cinderella, since all of the other info on these boards was so helpful for our August trip! :)

MickeyMac rocks! She has been so helpful and has gotten us great rates! Plus she hangs out here....
