Well after weeks and weeks of trying each and every day sometimes twice to get the Illuminations Cruise, I thought what the heck lets just give it one more shot before we leave in 3 days, the chances are slim to none. :( Well much to my surprise while the wonderful reservationist was scrolling through every day of my vacation, I heard her say wait go back quick grab it, she did it she found a cancellation for me. It even ended up on the day we were going to watch Illuminations to begin with what are the chances of that. :D Now we will be eating at Cape May Cafe's clam bake and then off to the docks at the Y&BC for Illuminations. I really weighed the cost especially since it is only 4 of us, but then I thought well its only money compared to the smiles on my childrens faces!! I'm excited I missed out on Illuminations last year and thought this would be nice. Please, please  tell me it is worth the cost!!!

MPHARJ,
You are so lucky! Congratulations on booking the Illuminations cruise. :)

I have taken the Illuminations Cruise several times and I have never been disappointed. It is such a luxuary to be driven up to a prime viewing spot and be able to sit down in a comfortable seat and watch Illuminations. (If it is chilly, they have blankets to snuggle under :) ) Then, when it is all over, there are no crowds to wait out, you get a nice leisurely ride back to the dock.

Enjoy!
Will you be at WDW on Halloween night?

No we will actually be arriving on Nov. 1st. I didn't even think about Halloween till after the trip was booked, we could have left earlier, but wither way we had our fill of trick-or-treat last night. Thanks on the info about the cruise, I am so looking forward to it. :D

Katie, you are so lucky! I'm doing it for my family as well. Illuminations is my favorite show of all, and I was quite taken by DC's accounts of being on the water, rocking gently, watching this magnificent show with those you love. How can you put a price on a memory?

That is true Mickeymac, you can't put a price on memories. I have been saying this might be the last trip to WDW for awhile, so why not go all out. However I have been reading about the UOG meet in Oct next year and it has caught my interest, can't wait to hear dates. I would love to be able to meet some new friends and what better place then WDW. :D

How much does this cruise cost, and how do you get reservations, please??

Amandajsmom,
The price is $117.37 plus tax (approx 125.00) for the pontoon boats plus a tip for the driver. You book your cruise by dialing 1 407 WDW PLAY (1 407 939 7529) and then hit the appropriate menu option at exactly 90 days prior--start dialing at 6:58am in the morning. I recommend that you call a day ahead of time to listen to the menu options which they change from time to time. There is also a different recording prior to the time they are open for taking reservations. If you call ahead, you can practice getting in and then you can immediately hit the appropriate menu option.
This reservation can be kind of tricky to obtain.

Mousefest 2004 is on around the time we're all going and they have loads of illuminations cruises going for $15 a seat... not advertising for them before any of my colleagues tells me off <g> but I tend to do it every year and it's a cheap/easy way of getting on a cruise... don't know if they have any seats left but they do get cancellations etc. so it's often worth asking http://www.wvnh.net/cruise/cruises04.html
