Whaaaaaaa well we :notme: (dh it is all his fault :hissy: ) have deceided to cancel our December 2004 trip  and put it off until December 2005  that seems like such a long long time!! I tried everything to change dh mind, first i began with  that seemed to have no effect i moved on to bring all 5 of the kids in for a hug :grhug: it went downhill after that did not work - i tried begging :noworthy: getting tough :wife: we made picket signs and held protests :demonstra: we ganged up on him :harass: yet he still held his ground!! I even stooped so low  as to have too much wine with dinner i thought for sure in a drunken :drunk: stupor he could find a way in the budget. I pulled out our pre-nup (that i made last week) :angry2: that said i get to go to :micball: every year he pointed out HE never signed it  I reminded him of all i do around here with 5 kids - :vacuum: :clean: :washing2: :washing: i pointed out that he has :knfork: everynight and who fixes him a nice :coffee: in the morning??? He said none of that brings in money my responce was :censored: well never mind .... he relized  he made a big mistake :club: i am sure his injuries will heal soon :ouch:
Sitting down and looking at things logically  it is for the best for our budget (no disney :tinker: magic with 21% intrest charges when you can't pay the bill :empty: when it arrives :nono: ) so we will save up for it and by next December we will be able to pay for the trip up front and have no debt when we return  I know it is the wise thing to do but I am still pitching a royal fit :tantrum:
Well I finally accepted no pixie dust :PIXIE: for us this year but I wont whine anymore :shut: however ..... i did deceide we could have a disney christmas :xmas3: here! So i have been ebaying all kinds of little theme park items and fun things for the kids - disney.com is great too all kinds of things i have been busy :shop:
So I will start making my many list of to-do's :writing: and getting our PS choices made and what dates to start :Phoning: for now I will just enjoy all the wonderful trip reports  and gather ideas  from all your posts!!

Sorry you had to put it off, but my mom always said the BEST things were worth waiting for, especially when you can come home without your credit card max-ed out.

Sorry to hear about your trip. I know exactly how it is. Our trip that we'd planned for months that was scheduled for September was canceled TWO DAYS before due to all the hurricane activity so we rescheduled for this December. I know a three month postponement doesn't quite compare to a whole year. But I can still sympathize with the disappointment and aggravation. Condolences from Texas.

d_dreamer, Tammi, Judyf, jimfortk, candyman, dnsmills :grhug: thank you all for the replies!!
I will admit we are disappointed :sigh: BUT we are looking on the bright side :sunny: and we will be very happy not to have those nasty credit card bills staring us in the face when we return home.
dnsmills i do hope you will be able to go to MVMCP in december it is not to be missed!! :xtree:
PLUS one other reason to postpone is our 4 year old will only ride IASW  and that is closed this december -- so best we wait until next december it would not be pretty once we got there and tried explaining it was not open :tantrum: I will say she did ride the carosel .... :cry2: and we took her on Peter Pan .... we tried the ride in tomorrow land the one you ride around on and you can see into the rides oooo what is the name :ohdear: I can not think of it! well ... :cry2: I won't even tell you what happened on :Pirate: POC :yell: I think the CM's are still talking about us :gossip:
for now I enjoy :read: all the trip reports and I am filling my time with all these        AND candyman is going to send a card from WDW :excited: how great is that!!
well I am going to go listen to my talking monarail magnet ebay find :rotfl:

Sorry to hear about your deferred WDW visit. As you said, a debt free trip will be much more enjoyable!
Shall we form a cancelled/significantly deferred trip club? Between health, family issues and unexpected financial crises, we've had a rash of them this year (including yours truly!). We could sympathize, empathize and cheer one another on until the next visit! :)

I am so sorry you had to cancel. I understand tho...the only way we are going this time is EVERYTHING is paid for...except Mom's trip to AC that she just dropped on me.
I must admit you win the BEST prize for use of smilies in a post!
If you will PM me your address is will also send a card from Disney...let me know children's names and favorite characters so they can get a card from them! (Brenda runs off to check postage to UK for a card)

That is so true about the cc bills. Not all but some of our trip went on a cc which is one thing I hate BUT I promised the DW we would take a vacation this year and I ain't breaking my promise. And thanks for your advice and yes, we are going to MVMCP. We've already received our passes for the party on Tues 12/7. And yes, I can't wait!

Sorry to hear that youve had to cancel but at least after the New Year you will have something to look forward to in 2005 - it just seems so long away!! We too are hoping to go Dec 05 and I bet the time will drag initially and then rush ahead when we are trying to save the spending money!
Love all the smilies - reminded me of the childrens comics with the stickets you have to put in the blank spaces in between a story line!

I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip---
I can totally RELATE to how your feeling!
We would've been at MNSSHP last night...and MGM today-
But as my 9 yr old, who's looking on the Brighter side of this,
keeps reminding me...
"If we wait til NEXT Halloween...We can stay at the Polynisian!!!
AND have double the spending money!!!" :D
Boy, will we be shopping!!!
Just think...12 more monthes of saving Spending money :D
I think your Disney Christmas is a Wonderful idea!
What about picking up some Disney Dollars for in the stockings?!
Have a wonderful day-

hey windbag hopefully we will both be able to be at WDW in December 2005!! You must get tickets for the mickeys christmas party :xtree: it is wonderful!
frosty :cry2: bummer your trip has to be postponed! I feel your pain  that is great your 9 year looks on the bright side - took me over a week to see the bright side - some might even say I was pouting  i have no idea of what they were talking about .....
On the postive side -- we were going back and forth where to stay we thought about the all stars or one of those on site value hotels, we have stayed in the Fort Wilderness :campfire: Cabins the last several times we have gone and LOVE it - but it is more expensive so with over a year to save we are going to stay at FW cabins and rent the golf cart for the whole week maybe we can fit in a few extra days! Dh might even be able to :golf: he would be thrilled. We will hopefully get to :eat: at CRT again if we can get the PS if not some of the other character meals! So waiting and saving will give us a much nicer holiday and then ofcourse there is all that :shop: for christmas gifts!!
Some days it is harder than others to look on the bright side :D but i know we will be much happier paying before we go!!
Hey I did get a bit of pixie dust on halloween - i found our MNSSHP bags from last year when we went to WDW and BONUS there was still some candy in them :rotfl: ok i confess i ate the sweet tarts - hey they were still good.

psdjmem...thank you for the HUG!!!
We went last year the first two weeks in December!
It was GREAT!!! Weather was beautiful...warm enough to wear shorts and swim! NO lines at all for any rides. (athough, now I'm spoiled!)
Fantastic Rates for 'On Property' resorts!
(Thats how we were able to stay at the Polynisian!)
We had a $185.00 standard rate, then were upgraded to a water view room at check-in!) Boy was that a GREAT Birthday treat!!!
I am just so torn as to if we go for Halloween next year...or try to go in february...or go in Dec again????!!!!
So many decisions to make :rotfl:
Have a Lovely day-
(Unfortunately, with a 9 yr old ds...I don't have to worry about CRT
ressies! :sigh:)
Take care-

Sorry that you had to postpone your trip. :( However (the grown up in me speaks...), I do think you are sensible not to do the trip 'on credit'. It will be good to be debt-free when you come home next year. It will encourage the kids to save too - we have a 'holiday fund' on the kitchen windowsill and I often see the kids adding their few cents to it.:D
