£4200 - so yeah I'd say it was worth booking by yourself rather than an agent

I booked DIY on Saturday and saved us quite a bit. I love seeing where every penny goes.

Great saving! I just had this conversation yesterday with a friend who loves WDW. We both said that next time we're going to DIY it too. Just think - an extra £1,000 to have fun with!:micbounce

I am a big fan of DIY when it comes to disney holidays. Booking with Virgin would have cost me £2785 for 9 nights at ASMo and 7day hopper plus tickets for 2Ad and 2Ch this december. Booking each part individually myself brought the total to £2085. Admittedly the saving is not enormous this time, but last time it only cost me £1500 for 2Ad and 2Inf at ASMu with UMP for 14nights over christmas. Virgin wanted £3000 for that package!!!

Chris/Lisa, is that with a virgin flight or someone else? Ive checked the various low cost airlines and direct hotel prices but never really got a huge difference in the price virgin have quoted me - am I doing something wrong??!!?? I do get the 10% FF virgin discount but thats the only one.

Good exchange rate at the moment so buy as much of the holiday direct from the states as you can i.e passes and hotel rooms
Virgin flight was the most expensive bit and that was because we wanted the upgrade to PE - to reduce the cost of this we used our virgin frequent flyer miles - if you have flown with them in the last 6 months or so you can claim these miles retrospectively

I think you can only claim your missing miles from travel within the last 6 months :)
