National Car Rental

Has anyone had any experience with National's Emerald Club? Supposedly if you reserve with them you just go to the line and get whatever car is available in the class you reserved. I am hoping to get a grand caravan (to be able to transport the electric scooter) and want to know people's luck in having a variety of vans to choose from. Thanks.

I use it frequently but a van is considered a specialty vehicle. So if you want want you would be best served by reserving one. They are frequently not available to just walk out to the lot and pick one up.

I would reserve one. What I meant was, with their Emerald Club membership you don't have to go through their ticket counter upon arrival. You simply go to the lot, hand them the reservation number, and go pick out the vehicle that is in the class you reserved. What I am looking for info on is the amount and variety of vehicles that they have to choose from (what they have in stock).

Unfortunately I have never rented a van. They always seem to have a great variety of SUV's available but I've never noticed their van assortment.

The assortment of vehicles to choose from are all mid to large sized cars. You cannot choose a van or SUV in the Emerald Aisle unless you have previously reserved it.

..this, from the woman who attempted to drive away with a mini-van when she'd reserved a mid-size. :D BTW, they count 'Camry's' as a 'large' vehicle! :D
