It's HORRIBLE.That was my 7 year old son's exact word when it was over.As a season pass holder we were able to go on Stitch last night and the reviews of EVERYBODY was that the ride(attraction) stunk. It is way to much for any child under 6 as you sit in total darkness for much of the time.I know it was a revamping of Alien Encounter and not much has changed say not as scary as Alien. There was a real funny part in the preboarding area with a mechanical gaurd and a funny part with Stitch(i don't want to give anything away)but that was about it.I am glad Disney put something new and Stitch fits in well in Tomorrowland. Please realize that this is my opinion and that doesn't really mean a heck of a hole lot.Like everything in life some people will like it and some won't.MK was open till 11 last night and we rode BTMRR 3 times in a row(got off in then walk right up to the ride again)That was a blast.Kadillac likes BTMRR at night and sit in the very back is best.Like I said that is what I think. So everyone go to Stitch(esp. on Sat nights)so the line to Space Mt is shorter.(ha ha ha)

PS. went to Eddie Money and he still sounds great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks. I was concerned about the scare factor becase my girls are afraid of the dark. Does anything pop out at you (3-D) Also is it loud since my youngest has somewhat sensitive ears.

Nothing jumps out at you.You sit in a seat and shoulder harness drops down.Looks like a roller coaster over the head harness. All that does is the speakers are in there. You never move.It is set up in the speakers in a surround style type so it seems Stitch is running around the place in the dark. There are no 3d effect as Stitch is in a large tube(when you see him)Anyone who remembers Alien Encounter will know what I mean. The tube in the center of the room. When I ride over the people in line when I am on th TTA I will say to myself if they only know they are wasting there time.:( :( :( But again this is my opinion and i don't want to change anyone's decision to check Stitch out.I can't wait for Soarin. That will be cool.

bkadillac,
Thanks for the review of the ride. We missed this ride when we were there on Halloween night and I was curious about how it was with it being themed on Stitch and all...

...moving this over to WDW Parks/Attractions....

Thanks bkadillac I am curious to see it but think its going to be too much for the girls. They have been afraid of alot of the darker attractions lately.

Now I will give it to Disney, that the Animatronic for Stitch they used is the best I ever saw. He looks as if he's real. Now with that in mind......The ride bites. It's like AE still but tones down even more. air bursts are cut out along with other effects. A few new ones exist but its not enough to save this ride....I know it was still test and tune time for the ride but it lacks alot. Disney should have put as much time into the attraction as a whole as they did the Stitch Animatronic. Again be prepared to be amazed at Stitch but not from the ride.

hey Mondo-I did Stitch Sat night and it stunk. My 5 year old bailed out of the line and my 7 year old say's he will never go on it again.I am sure some people will like it and call us crazy but I don't know.Stitch it self was cool but like you said it is just AE all over again.I worry that Everest is going to be on the soft side. For some reason my gut is telling me something.I hope it is just indigestion. brian

I sure hope that Disney gets the message and shuts this ride down before it opens .....like they did with AE..... Eisner rode AE and hated it and he closed it down till they improved it. I think in this case, it was a change of rides on the cheap to capitalize on Stitch. I believe this because if they really wanted to do a good job they have Timekeeper's area they could have canibalized to make a good attraction. Instead of doing that, they took an existing structure and made low budget changes.....Again my hats off to the Stitch Animatronic designer.....Best I've seen yet. As for the attraction.....The imagineers that made it should resign for lack of imagination or for not being in touch with what people want.

As for Everest.....This is a thrill ride and I think they know that they have to many eyes on what's being developed in the way of these rides. People need to be drawn to AK and if they spent this much and used up key land for a flop, the hope for this park is all but doomed to a massive, and destructive future rehab. So I think it will be good. Now the question is will it be great. The AK a half day park as we all know. Needs to keep people in all 4 parks all day....Yes, I know that if you get all the people into fewer parks you have less over head with a fix revenue source.....My arguement would be people need to have the "ZOO/Half Day Park" leave their minds. When non-Disney people buy tickets they see it as 3 1/2 parks and not a value. Also by keeping another park open it levels off the crowds and brings down the lines in all the parks....Thus increasing capacity, and making lines shorter....this cycles back to people staying longer since they are not turned-off by long lines. See the catch 22 there. So I think Everest will be cool and I can't wait to see what other suprise is in-store for that park. Of course I can be wrong

Funny, AK is a full day park for me

Yep, me too JuniorMickey. I love AK and never rush through there. I've prefer to be there just before the park opens and stay until it's closed. I've been there as much as an hour after closing and never been asked to leave, by the way. I was wending my way to the exit, but taking it very slowly. :D

It's my second favorite park after EPCOT. (Just in case anyone forgot that EPCOT was my favorite)! :D

We also just got back on tues (11/9) and did the Stitch ride and we had a large group and everyone said the same thing, it was boring and not good at all! The kids especially thought it was boring and dumb so they say. I thought there would be more to it, but since I never did Alien I had nothing to compare it to.

I didn't do AE either, so don't know what to expect. I'll give it a go. Unless the lines are too long.

Is it a FP attraction?

bkadillac
November 11th, 2004, 23:22
It will be a fp ride.D Dreamer, you basicly enter a preboard room with a robot guard.(they are bringing Stitch into custody)Then you enter a room that has 3 rows of seats in a large circle with a big tube in the middle of the circle.Shoulder restraints lower,Stitch comes in the tube,he escapes, the lights go out,you hear him in the speakers by your head(that is what the shoulder restraints are for)then the lights come on and you are sitting there saying(that was it).Don't want to give away to much but that's about it.

We had to chance to ride it when we were there a week ago. It was too scary for the little kids (there was a lot of crying going on when it went dark) and too boring for the older kids. We never did AE either, I think it was closed the last time we were there. We only had a 5 minuted wait and I am sooooo glad we didn't wait longer for the disappointment. The chairs were so uncomfortable and the shoulder harness didn't fit my son right so the whole time he was messing around with it. Both of my kids were disappointed. But my kids are 11 and 13 and love thrill rides.

PS. went to Eddie Money and he still sounds great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grr, I wanted to see Eddie Money, but when we got to Epcot, I realized I forgot my camera, and tried to get back to the hotel but since Disney Transportation is so slow, I didn't get a chance :(

My parents sat up front though, and when he threw out his glasses, my dad could have caught them but they went into the bushes behind him. grr.

AE was opened for years, they didn't shut it down before it opened. Stitch is worse than Alien, I would much prefer alien, it is for more teens/adults in the park, after all some of the park is for one audience, the other for children.

I cannot wait until Eisner's out, he's ruining Disney.

Okay, I went in with a totally open mind but it seems that they changed very little from AE. I will say that the Stitch in the main room is VERY VERY cool!

This is by far the worst Disney ride ever created, bar none.
A case of Diz brass doing it on the cheap - again.
Little kids left the pre-show crying, and we left vowing to never get near this one again. And this is from seasonal passholders who are probably at some park or another 2 to 3 times per week on average.
