Sending pics via mobiles

Has anyone sent pics from their mobiles in the USA to home. Will it work?!

Finally got some whizzkid from BT to alter all my phone settings and my multi-media messaging is now working. Can I send pics 'live' from the events? :shrug:

What a great idea!

In theory it will work <G> but then there's the actual practice.

MMS multimedia messaging uses GPRS.... now normally it doesn't get charged like GPRS, its a one off fee such as 40p per message. Thing is over in the states, it does mean you'd need a provider that supported O2 roaming with gprs. THEN you'd have to hope they were setup not to charge you stupid GPRS ROAMING charges (20quid per megabyte etc! theyre THAT bad).

I guess what I'm saying is, technically it'll work... but it may be best to ask O2 to make sure of the billing side. I'm going to look at the o2 website and see if they have a "sending MMS from the states" section.

oooo well the o2 site claims it's having a special on mms messaging "this summer" although no date sooooooo... summer 03? summer 04? etc.... but they're claiming 25p a message which isnt bad!

This summer O2 is offering a special promotion to customers using our Media Messaging service abroad. Until further notice the cost of sending a media message outside of a bolt on whilst abroad will be 25p inc VAT, exactly the same as sending one within the UK. i sent some pics back from Italy and i don't think they were astronomical, i texted loads and sent quite a few photos and talked on the phone and it was only £20 extra- europe may be cheaper tho
