I have been looking about at buying a sonic toothbrush as an xmas prezzy, and obviously they are much cheaper in the States than they are here - I found one for $109 when the price here seems to be around the £130 mark! I did actually find the same model in Costco for £80, but that still makes the American one cheaper. Before I go ahead though, I just wanted to check a few things out - does anyone know...
...if I will need some sort of adapter to plug it into British bathroom shaver sockets?
...Will I have some extra charge on top of the $109 (ie duty?) even though the website said that price included shipping outside of the USA/Canada?

Any other catches I haven't thought of? Just wondering if it's worth getting it from Costco anyway to save me any hassle.

Thanks guys. :)

I bought mine from my dentist (a Philips Sonicare). It was £80 and it's one of the best things i've ever bought, well worth every penny! Are they not dual voltage? I think mine came with a UK plug on the charger and a 2 pin shaver plug extra in the box. You get 2 weeks (brushing twice a day  ) off a full charge :D

I've got a Sonicare. Not dual voltage. :( It says it will last 2 weeks on one charge................I shall test it. :D

If you buy from the US, Jenna. You will have to pay shipping. After about 2/3weeks you'll be sent a Customs invoice. Don't know how much that would be.

The plug will not fit a shaver point so you will have to have an adaptor to use here. Sorry don't know about US voltage being used in UK.

After about 2/3weeks you'll be sent a Customs invoice. That's what I was afraid of! After thinking about it I've come to the conclusion that I might as well get the one from Costco and be done and dusted with it. I think it will be easier! :)

I would, just to be on the safe side. Also if there is a problem with it, you can take it back to costco.
