I got a letter this morning from MYTRAVEL letting me know that as of January 2005 the Disney tickets are expected to rise by £15.00 per person. I didn't want to buy mines from Omar until after January - wanted to get Christmas / New bills out of the way first and we're not going until July next year. Have you any advise on this. Will Omar up his prices too - I suppose he may have too. Thanks. :sigh:

 really???
Oh no!!!....
We wont be going until october next year....
Is it possible to buy an annual pass NOW and not "change the voucher" until october?

yes yes yes!!!! that's exactly what we did for our April trip! In December, we bought our AP's at the Disney store and didn't "cash them in" until we got to the park in April and our passes were good for a year from that point. As long as you have the voucher, you are fine. They say you should keep the receipt to be on the safe side though.

Mari, with an AP, unless you buy it at the parks, the clock doesn't start ticking until the first time you use it :D

Thistle,
Your best bet is to check with Omar. He may be able to purchase enough advance stock to keep him going for a while, but his contract might stipulate that he has to increase when Disney does too.
Disney has also recently increased the Disneyland pricing, too.

Mickeymac, I'll drop Omar a note and see what he says. Thanks. :) I cant buy an annual pass cos we're going next year but I dont know if we're going to go back in 2006. We normally go every second year.

He's pretty quick to respond. Also bear in mind that if your length of stay would benefit from an Annual Pass, don't be concerned with the term 'annual' and get one anyways. It's a really neat way to do the parks.

Mickeymac, I'll look into that too. The thing is we're staying off site (villa) but I was under the impression that you had to be a Disney resort guest to get an annual pass. Can you clarify that for me please. :)
JuniorMickey
November 10th, 2004, 23:07
Nope :) You can stay on the moon and have an annual pass

JuniorMickey - many thanks. Need to do some detective work. I've written a note to Omar about the price increases so I'll keep you all posted on his reply.
We have that great offer he did last year which was 5 Day Hopper pass with 4 pluses. We have 2 plus days left so was going to go for the 4 Day Hopper only for next year but I'll have to look into the best option for us.

Just heard back from Omar. He said that Disney will be increasing their tickets but they never announce in advance when this will be which makes me think that my travel agent is "at it". He also added that he'll be increasing his prices also - of course he has to.
If I would have thought this through I would have figured out that my travel agent was trying to get my business!! I called them and they're offering a 5 day hopper plus 2 days at £169.00 compared to Omar's for the same ticket it £143 which equates to roughly $263. Omar will be getting my business as usual.

WOW so each ticket will cost 27.71 more per day or per package?

That can't possibly be a per day price, thistle must be quoting the package.

So, are all the hopper passes going up? If I'm going in February, should I buy my park passes now? and who is Omar, does he give good rates for US too? I see $202 for a 4 day hopper at Disney Store (in store), I think. or was it $220?
TIA for info!!

Is there really no time limit on when you can 'activate' your AP? I think Mickeymac has just about convinced us to DIY things in 2006. So does this mean if I buy the AP now, it will still be ok for 2006?
Also ( I know it's hard to answer, but an educated guess perhaps), how often per year and when do AP prices rise? According to the website they're $499 for the premium one right now.
JuniorMickey
November 20th, 2004, 23:15
Yes Vikki, you can buy now and activate whenever you'd like :D

I don't know what makes you think that. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have even considered the AP :D
