Hello everyone.

I'm new to the forum, and new to holidaying in the US - never been before.

Reckon to have found a deal for a villa in Davenport in late February.

One of my biggest questions with regards to the proposed holiday is . . . what is the weather REALLY like in Florida in late February. I really don't want to pay a lot of money and travel half way round the world only to end up spending a fortnight in depressing conditions that I could have at home in the UK. Obviously I appreciate the fact that February is not one of Florida's warmest months but please, what is the weather REALLY like?

Thanks in advance,

Paul.

February? Mid to Low 70's would be the daytime averages. little to no rain. You'd probably need a sweatshirt at night.

Coming from the UK, you're going to find Florida's weather far better at any time of the year.
At certain times of the year there will be more rainfall and even the odd Hurricane.......or 3!!! :afraid:
February will be right at the begining of that wet & windy season, if you get any at all.
Don't worry about the weather, you'll find so much to do if you get the odd shower. It may be a bit chilly at night but nothing like at home. :D

I've been there in February (1st 3 weeks) and we wore shorts every day for 3 weeks:sunny: except for maybe one or two days. Did need sweatshirts at night. Had one 'day' of rain :rain:- i.e. it lashed for about an hour, and that was it. We spent a day in Typhoon Lagoon and it was great coz there were no crowds - it's too cold for the locals!

We were at WDW in Feb. 2003 for seven days and had mixed weather. The first two days were :( rainy and cold, the next four were :) beautiful, and the last day cloudy & cold. Very unpredictable!!!

Have fun and enjoy your visit. :ears:

"Winter" in Florida is often unpredictable. Yesterday it was 82 here in South Florida. Was just out side and it is about 70 and very overcast. Yes, 70 isn't cold, but when you go fro 82 to 70 overnight it feels that way :D

Thanks for all the replies folks.

It looks like it will be the back end of February when I visit Florida. I've investigated the possibility of going a couple of weeks later but things - particularly flights - start to go up in price, and I'm not sure that the potentially better weather at the beginning of March justifies the higher prices.

Just got to hope that the original deal that I found for my February trip is still available. If not I'm going to be very unhappy.

Fingers crossed . . .

Thanks again.

Paul.
