We just returned from the seven night western caribbean cruise on Saturday night and I have to say it was awesome. Key West was great (except for the naked couple at the Garden of Eden bar. ), Grand Cayman and Stingray City were a once in a lifetime experience, Cozumel and Chankannab Park were wonderful and Castaway Cay was sooooooo relaxing as always.

I have to give props to the following castmembers for making the cruise an even more enjoyable experience:
Pavi from South Africa (spa): She gave me the best massage I have ever had!
Maria from Hungary (sit down breakfast at Lumiere's): very funny and put up with all of our questions and teasing.
Boris from Bulgaria (Server): very classy and knew the menu very well.
Horia from Romania (Asst. Server): very nice, funny and pleasant. Also knew what wine we wanted from our last cruise by just the description of the bottle!

A couple of suggestions for Disney:
Stop with the pushing of the wine package after getting on board, not very Disney.
Stop with the pushing of additional spa packages after getting a massage, I was still in my robe for crying out loud. Just sent the info to my room.
Turn up the heat in the adult pool (Quiet Cove). There was no way it was 81 degrees as stated on channel 13.
Add an additional beverage station at Quiet Cove or move the current one from the Mickey Pool to the Goofy Pool

I will post a more detailed trip report within the week along with posting photos once I catch up at work. I also will be more than happy to answer all of your questions. :)

Yeah, we need LOTS more info! Hubby and I (and Bev and her DH) have that cruise coming up in Sept - the Western Caribbean one - and we'd love to hear ALL about yours so we know what we have coming up!

Too true...we are so not quit sure as to what we're getting into..I mean, I know this is going to be a great cruise, no doubt about it, BUT we're just finding out what's what..and I'm not as confused as I was. Like now we know how we're getting to the hotel from the airport, and back again, but it sure was funny getting our info together. Well, it's funny now. At the time I was thinking this is really like a Rubiks Cube.

Donna, we need a bigger boat in your countdown...or do we all get our own little boats? :lmao:

I missed that, naked people on the cruise, in the original post. Personally I don't care, but I know this is a Disney cruise...

There are some areas of Key West were nudity is allowed. Usually it is in private settings though (pool or bar of a lodging).

It's been so long now I'll have to put something together instead of going off the top of my head. In the meantime, does anyone have any specific questions?

BevW
February 5th, 2005, 14:45
Oh, that's not on the ship. Ok, we're covered....sorry...pun not intended :lmao:

As for specific questions...I'll have to think of them! I know I have some..I just keep forgetting to write them down! I'm interested in what you did during the on land portion of your trip. What did you do, why did you decide on those excursions, and would you do them again..was it worth it?

Also, on the ship...what do they offer? I have the brochure that Cinderella sent me, but I've heard about the Pirates in the Caribbean party, do they offer that still?

We did a walking tour through Key West. While it was interesting I think I would pass on it next time. The reason we did it was because we have been to Key West before and thought this would be a new experience. I would have preferred to have done the Ghost Tour but that is done at night.

In Grand Cayman we did Stringray City. This is a MUST!!! Absolutely wonderful!!! I would not recommed it to children under 10 however.

At Cozumel we went to Chankanabb Park. There was snokeling, beaches, a Dolphin encounter, shops, food....it was very nice.

The ship offers all kinds of activities. You get a daily Navagator left in your roon every night while you're at dinner. There are things for everyone. You will not be short of things to do.

They still do the Pirates in the Carribean. There is a huge buffet on deck. It is very cool. Here are a couple pictures but it's a little blurry.....the first picture is when getting into line.....the second is a watermelon.....and the third is the Executive Chef making fajitas. Yummy!

Ooooh. I want to do the stingray thing! And the picture of the watermelon is BEAUTIFUL - even if I don't eat watermelon!
