Hi everyone

We're going to Orlando in April  but should we buy our theme park tickets now or after the new year -- I've heard rumours that Disney are putting up its prices and also that they are reducing them. Does anyone know which one is true?

We're going for two weeks and we want to do all of Disney and a couple of the waterpark as well as Universal. What tickets would everyone recommend us to get?

So many decisions and so little time!!! :hehe:

Thanks
Claire

If you have the resources to buy them in advance, that is the way to go! That way if there is a price increase, you are "protected" by having already purchased your tickets!

If you are visiting WDW 8 or more days, annual passes are more cost effective.

We purchased ours long in advance....or when we had the spare cash.
We got a 7day disney ticket, which allows access to the 4 main parks and also the 2 water parks. I think you can cover everything in a week. We still have some days left on these tickets and hence can use next year as we will probably not do Epcot/Animal Kingdom again.

There are 3 web pages that we used that all had good deals with prices changing slightly with exchange rate.

We then also got a 14day, 4 park flexi-ticket for universal/seaworld/wetnwild.
We covered all the disney parks in our 1st week then focused on the other parks in the 2nd. We did not fit Busch gardens in this year, but probably next year and hence will get the 5 park ticket.

We are considering the 5 day hopper plus and the 4 park flex ticket. Will the 5 days be enough to see the WDW? (this is out 1st visit).

Thanks

If you want to see EVERYTHING, you'll need a month :D

You can just about fit everything into 5 days at Disney, it should not be too busy in April. Do some careful planning, know what rides/shows you want to do and use the Fastpass system. Still could not understand why people wait for over 60minutes, when they are still giving out fastpasses, when you can go on a number of other attractions, come back within your slot and wait 5 minutes!!!

This might help, this was our schedule in October (not a busy time) and we did not see everything hence going back in 2005. Our two sons like the thrill rides and managed to get on these numerous times without long waits, possibly lucky we went at a quieter time of year and on the right days. MK appeared to be busy any day, hence, when we return we would visit MK on the not so scary halloween party night again.

Sun - Animal Kingdom, then Epcot late afternoon for few rides/meal/fireworks
Mon - MGM Studios
Tue - MGM Studios (am), Blizzard Beach Water Park and we did Mickey's Backyard BBQ at night (Great nite, excellent value)
Wed - Magic Kingdom (very busy)
Thurs - Typhoon Lagoon and we also went back to MK for Mickey's not so scary halloween party
Friday - Magic Kingdom, then back to MGM Studios for meal and fantasmic show
Saturday - Universal Studios
Sunday - Islands of Adventure
Monday - WetnWild Water Park
Tuesday - Discovery Cove
Wednesday - Seaworld and also did Pirates show in evening (very poor)
Thursday - Epcot (our eldest son went to Kennedy Sapce Centre)
Friday - Islands of Adventure
Saturday - Universal Studios

Sunday - thankfully we had a 3rd week in Marco Island and could recover, it was a hard two weeks in Orlando, but very enjoyable.

Thanks for the info. We arrive on Sunday 3rd April and leave on Tuesday 19th April, so we have just over two weeks. I was going to go for a 5 day hopper plus and a 4 park flexi, but now dont know whether or not to go for a 7 day hopper plus and a 4 park flexi. I dont want to go all that way and not have enough ticket time!

I asked a similar question on another thread. We are going in Jan 05 Hotel is booked. If i were you I would book your Hotel now(if you haven't already) and i think you can work on the discount later.
But I have not bought our tickets either. I was thinking about an annual pass, but the Magic your way tickets look very good to me too. Now I don't know what to do.

If you book it by yourself and the prices drop then they won't automatically adjust them for you. You will have to stay abreast of the price drop and call them back and ask for the new rates. However, if you use a certified Disney Vacation Planner such as our Mickeymac or Cinderella they will keep abreast of this for you.
