Call Girl Barbie? Typo makes 'surfer' doll walk on the racy side
Despite the hustle and bustle of the newly launched holiday shopping season, some shoppers at one local Kmart did a double take last week when they saw their receipts. It wasn't what they were charged that caught their attention. It was a small promotional ad for some of the season's hot toys. Among the items touted was "Call Girl Barbie." Could Barbie-mania have suddenly gone downscale on the moral meter? Turns out, however, it wasn't that kind of "call girl" at all. It was "Cali Girl Barbie," so named for its California "surfer girl" theme. Chalk it up to a misprint by the store's cash register printer.
