We have a PS for Chef Mickeys for 8.30 am on the second morning of our stay in Jan, and were going to go by taxi to make sure we got there on time with minimal stress! But, it has finally dawned on me that the best way to arrive must surely be on the monorail.
So, can anyone suggest the best way to do this. Bus or taxi to MK, or taxi to TTC or another monorail hotel then monorail?????
Many thanks.
:)
(If I had a countdown timer - and I'm determined I will before we go!! It would say that in exactly one month we will be on our way for our first ever trip to WDW.)
And the thing that makes it even better is that we have Christmas to fill the time before we go!!!:) :) :)

You'll need to decide how you want to go. If you are going to use WDW transport, take a bus to the closest park (MK in this case) then switch to the resort monorail.
I thought I read something about resort buses no longer going to the TTC?
You could always take a bus to DTD then switch to one for the Contemporary.
If you are going to go by taxi, simply have them drop you at the Contemporary.

snapdragon,
The quickest way of course would be to take a cab--and as 'Tink says: right to the CR.
But, I was surprised to find out how early the parks opened during the Christmas holiday week. MK is the early entry park on Sunday, the 2nd (opens at 8am for EMH) I would recommend you check with guest services just to make sure, but I wouldn't be surprised to find the buses running as early as 7am on the 2nd of Jan.
If you were to use Disney Transport, you could catch a bus to the MK and either walk to the Contemp or take the monorail. The walk would take about 5 or 10 mins--and thinking about this some more: where the busses let you off, it would almost be as far to walk to the Contemp as it would be to walk over to the monorail station. :)

Thanks. I know we want to end up on the monorail - I think the children would love to arrive at the contemporary like that. I just wasn't sure where the easiest/ quickest place to get on it would be earlyish in the morning. I'll have a play around on the transportation wizard. That's a very useful link.

I would take a cab... We tried some of the options mentioned above for a PS at 1900 Park Fare, and we almost didnt make it
Buses in the morning are very crowded, and then they dont arrive immediatly, then you have to get on the monoriel, and who knows how long you have to wait for it, then finally you get on the monoriel which is also crowded, and well...you get the idea
For a STRESS FREE, less time comsuming trip, I vote for a taxi!

If you get to the MK ticket and transportation centre, there are two monorail lines. One goes to the park, and is busier in the morning, but the other going to the resorts is pretty quite. It's a great way to arrive at Chef Mickeys which is my favorite place for breakfast. Also if when you get to the monorail ask a cast member whether you can ride up front with the driver. If your lucky and no one has got there before you this will be an extra treat for the children.

HI
Best thing to do is make Bus to MK and take monorail to Cont easier if you do not want to spend money on Taxi's

I'm sure the resort busses didn't go to the transportation centre.....
When we did it we went to MK then over on the monorail, easy peasy :D And free :D

snapdragon- it will probably take you longer to get the monorail to the contemporary from Mk than it will do to walk there- it's only 5-10mins on the flat.
At this time of day i would allow at least an hour travelling time if not 1 1/2 hrs

Our Chef MIckey's ressie was for 3:35 in the afternoon, but we did the bus to MK and then hopped on the monorail to the Contemporary. For our early breakfast ressie at Wilderness Lodge, we drove because we weren't sure how early the buses started running...and I know they didn't start at 7:00 am...at least I didn't see any running that early.
I think OKWTink is right about the buses not going to the TTC from the resorts. Another change is that you can park hop from Park to Park easier cos the buses will take you from park to park instead of you having to go from a park to a resort or the TTC to your next park! Who ever finally came up with this one was thinking. FINALLY.

For that early in the morning, I could just taxi it if you do not have a car. WDWGrandma and I had to be at Epcot at 8:15 for the Segway tour last week and I picked her up at WL (I was at Pop) because Disney transpo would not have gotten us there in time.
