Disney's travel-agent website was updated last night to describe their new packages for 2005 (a separate topic in its own right). One of the items mentioned was Extra Magic Hour (now renamed as Extra Magic Hours:

Extra Magic Hours: Each day, one of Disney’s magical theme parks opens one hour early exclusively for resort guests, or, as a new feature, stays open up to three hours extra after regular park hours ......

So, good news for Disney resort guests. Schedules have not yet been posted, but I expect this will be done later this month, as the program begins in 2005.

Sincerely,

Len Testa

LenTesta,
Wow! I like the 3 hours later. :D I wouldn't mind testing it out this weekend for them...  (I guess I'll have to wait 'til 2005. )

That 3 hours later will be good. Wonder if that will replace E-Ride nights.......?

I was just going to ask about this!

I recently read on a website that the hours are going to begin on Jan. 9, 2005, but past that they couldn't offer anymore information because they didn't know anything more.

However, I'm going 1/21/05-1/29/05 and I want to know if the hours are still going to be going on when I go and what parks have what days.

Can anyone help?

Wonder if this is just a trial or if it will stick? I can't see them doing evenings in the summer when the parks are already open late.....

I think i read in UOG that its a trial.

Problem is if it's free everyone in their mother will be there (There are a LOT of rooms at WDW which equals a LOT of people all going to that one park) so there could possibly still be long lines & crowds depending on the time of year. I will miss e-ride nights if they take them away.

I did it in May when the trial was and it wasn't too busy. I was able to get much done. I will say though that MK was far busier than MGM was.

Somehow I just can't envision AK after dark. This might really be cool.

never thought of that, but it would be cool. No animals though.

I really hope it lasts thru May. Dumb question.... How do they know you are staying at a resort??? I know I've seen it on a post before, but can't remember. :hehe: We are a sleep late bunch, so I would appreciate going to dinner and then parks.

Your room key would be a good clue! :)

Yeah, but once you're in, you're in, do they ask for your room key before you get on the rides?

d_dreamer

i doubt it

i doubt you'll need the room key once you have a wrist band(which is the way I heard they were doing, like at e-tix)
