My son is 16 year old High School Wrestler. He needs to keep in shape when we are at Disney during Christmas Break. He is 125 pds. Does anyone have any info on where he might be able to do some wrestling like at a High School, etc.

Thanks :wiggle:

Here is a website with the informtion you might need:

Florida USA Wrestling (http://www.floridausawrestling.org/)

Dr. Philips High School, about 15 minutes from Disney, has training facilities but don't know if they are open for the public.

The YMCA Aquatic Training Facility on International Drive might have Weight Training equipment that he could use to at least help him maintain his muscle mass.

Hope that helps!

Going to a high school may be hard because of liability and state requirements. You'd be better off at the YMCA or something along those lines.

I guess I never thought of the liability issue. He has 77 wins so far for his high school record and he is really trying to hit 100 wins this year....so he wants to keep in shape. It has been a while since we have been to OKW. I wonder if they have a workout room.

I can't believe your son's coach is letting him go on vacation during Christmas break  My son actually had practise on Christmas Eve and New Years Day.

If I remember correctly, if you are a member of USA wrestling, that entitles you to partcipate in USA open practices. Now don't hold me to that. You might want to check with his coach and see if he can arrange something. That is what my son has done in the past. Or we just left him at home :D
