Sleigh Ride versus Carriage Ride

I've just spoken with WDW Play. The sleigh rides that are themed for the holidays, which depart on the half hour from WL are all booked for the dates I would need.

They offered a carriage ride, which leaves from Fort Wilderness (the tavern) same length of time, but not themed for the holidays. It's available (same price too).

Has anyone done the carriage ride? Could it be considered "Christmassy" in and of itself without decorations or having the carriage made up to look like a sleigh?

Book the carriage ride or go without. I don't know what to do? :confused:

I don't know if this helps or not, but a lot of times a guest will do a last minute cancellation due to the weather - perhaps book the carriage ride and swap to the sleigh ride if there's an opening? I called 3x a day for a guest and finally got a slot on the WL sleigh ride last weekend. I think it was two days before, so I was really a wreck about it, but happy it opened up!

That's an idea, Mickeymac! Thanks. I think I'm going to just not do the carriage ride though. I thought about it, but couldn't find anyone who had done it, to give me an idea of how it would be?

I just don't want it to be "second best" if that makes any sense?

I totally understand, and that was niggling at the back of my mind while I was typing. I had a Guest who did the carriage ride with her children as a runner up, and although they had great fun, she said she spent the night thinking of the sleigh ride at the resort (they were staying at the Wilderness) and still ended the evening wishing they had gone on it.

Her husband could have cared less. :rolleyes:

I've had two Guests though get last minute cancellation spots, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!! Do you know if they are doing a sleigh right at POR also? Would that count?

I only know about the sleigh ride at WL and it is all filled. Still. :(
