I'm going to Disney this Christmas and the 10-day-weather-planner shows rain. Does WDW really stink then?

This is going to sound horrid, but I *love* WDW in the rain. Folks have a tendency to not go to the parks, and the streets look all lovely and shiny and you get the *best* pictures! :D :D :D
I've also noticed that raindrops are fickle beasts in Florida. Dropping the size of turkeys one minute, then gone the next. I don't think I've ever been in Florida when there's an all day cold yucky drizzle that keeps you inside like the kind we get up here in New England. It's more of a dodge-em-drops that are fun to run through. :D

Had one of those days yesterday.... pure YUCK!
Mickeymac is right though, generally, Florida rain comes and goes so quickly that you bearly have time to buy a poncho :D

During the summer, you can always count on a quick 15 minute to half hour rain in the afternoons, but rain this time of year can linger a bit longer.
It looks like the days around Xmas are going to have lots of cloud cover and it might rain on and off several times during the day. I would suggest a water-proof jacket.

I would rather be in the rain at WDW than the rain back in the UK anyday, however i do understand we went in Dec last year and the weather was cool some days and cold in the evenings, we like it very warm so no December again for us.

Rain in December can be icy and cold. It is not the rain of the humid summers.
A lined rain jacket (flannel is nice) with something waterproof for your feet would be a good idea. Last thing you want to be is wet and chilled. :(

Early December this year was terrific, Catherine!
One night when the weather was a bit nippy for me (fleece jacket & leather gloves), but most of the other evenings didn't require extra layers until about 11:00 p.m. The one night I expected it to be cold (based on the forecase) and I dressed accordingly, I roasted!
I consider 60 degrees Fahrenheit to be a bit "nippy"!

Yeah, and everyone looks like clones in their yellow mickey ponchos. :P

Except that the standard WDW poncho is now a translucent "white" that you can see the colors of the person's clothes through. :) Things change, eh? Not even the yellow poncho was sacred.

I think that is because it was so easy for parents to lose their children in the crowds :)

So goes the party line. I think it has something to do with security too. Those nearly clear ponchos didn't come out until after the Twin Towers tragedy.
Could be a coincidence, but it could also be concern on the part of WDW that the security people couldn't see what was under those yellow ponchos.
