Well I was all set to book the Best Western Plaza last night as I had found a great deal for £440 for 16 nights. Let DH take a look before I went ahead only for him to announce that he does not fancy sharing a room with our DH (9) and DS (6). Now I did mention all of this to him when I started looking about 4 weeks ago and at that time it was ok, probably because he was not actually listening.
So do you have any villas that you would recommend. We have started looking on the internet last night and there are loads to choose from, but where to start?
Or if you have any suggestions on hotel suites send them this way.....the way we are going we will be arriving with no where to stay...

We always go in villa and our children are 9 and 7 at present. It does give u much more privacy and space. There are so many villa communities in and around Orlando and Kissimmee. We have stayed at Indian Ridge and Eagle piont, we prefered Indian Ridge for its proximity to WDW. We are staying at The Sanctuary at West Haven in Sept and its supposed to be well placed near the Championship Gate.
Calabay Park, Westridge, Formosa Gardens all sound wondeful.

i like to stay in a villa for the main bulk of the holiday, it unnerves me not having a washing machine for more than two nights lol!! and i like to make a proper cup of coffee in the morning. We stay in a villa in Indian Ridge too, it is really convenient to WDW which is where we spend the bulk of our time.

we stayed at to on calabay this year year and its a very nice resort indeed, also arcamalpha2003 stayed there too, opposite us at the same time but we didnt know at the time   all except esprit, where we got robbed as i was told they have had problems there before, anywhere in the davenport area looks nice to me :D
i dont think i could stay in a hotel for the whole 2 weeks, imho a villa anywhere (not just in orlando)is so much better

We stayed at highland reserve this year. It was a quiet estate & the villa was superb. We spent weeks looking through all the available villas before deciding on one.
Next year we are booked into a villa in Formosa Gardens.
We booked a villa bigger than we needed to give us plenty of space.

got to say i dont like the area around the 27 too far from WDW for me
and the roads of cousre
i like villas that are more private too the one in the dasvenport lakes we stayed at was like in the middle of an englise council estate from our pool you could see people walking down the road 2 streets away

Formosa is off the 192 behind where the Chinese Dragon used to be .One thing you may want to check is whether there is any building going on near where you are looking .They are putting a new road in that will run in the Formosa area although maybe not near to all the communities but Windsor Palms may well be affected .

We like Tuscan Ridge because the homes were on larger plots, so privacy was good and some of the homes back onto the Orange Groves.
We also liked the 2 bedroom Staybridge Suites at Lake Buena Vista. Excellent accomadation and a good size kitchen area.

We just returned from Florida in October and stayed in Sheraton Safari, Lake Buena Vista. Newly refurbed suites, great layout for us with 3 kids a living area with bathroom in the middle. Free transport to Disney too! Excellent service from hotel staff. Well worth a look if you want to be really close to WDW

Stayed at Wellington Reserve on which is just off the 192 and south US27 for a mile. 10 minutes from Disney, 10 minutes from the I4, Found it absolutely lovely. Staying in a 4 bed/3bathroom villa - Cedars at Woodridge which is mile North on the US27 in a few weeks and am looking forward to that as I have heard some good things about it. (Infact we have booked 3 villas for the 3 weeks!) We are taking over the neighbourhood!

We stayed at Emerald Island Resort in a villa in Feb and would recommend it. There was building work going on the other side to where we stayed but you would never have known and the staff in the clubhouse and gatehouse were really friendly and helpful. Emerald Island is located near Formosa Gardens off the 192 near the old Splendid China and was handy for all Ponderosa and Golden Corrals and only 10 mins from Disney. When we go back we will stay there again.
Hope this helps anyone

one morning there had been some sort of incident and that 25 minute journey took well over an hour and sitting in stop start traffic when you want to be in the parks is no fun but i personally just like being nearer we stayed in the lindfields complex the first time we visited and that was close and was much nicer situated too

Staying in a villa is wondefull, i love coming home after a long day at the parks all getting in the pool and then getting in the Jacuzzi and having several glasses of wine with the hubby, paradise

and big notices around the pool telling you NO NOISE ALLOWED IN THE POOL AT ALL AFTER 10PM OR BEFORE 8 AM
this is a warning dont book a villa through virgin
