Hi we are booked into discovery cove on 27th December (can't wait), but i have looked at the weather forecast and am a little worried as it says scattered thunderstorms that day will we be safe?
Please help as i have looked forward to this for 30 years!!!

i am sure they would hold off while it thundered but reschedule for another part of the day
when we were there they did say that if any of the dolphins did not want to play on any day they had to send its customers to one of the other dolphins when it had finished with its own group --they said that it messed up the timings but they always managed to fit everyone in
so i suspect it would be similar to that

PS
just seen our video
it is really good but very very expensive

Thanks candy man, Hopefully the storms will stay away, we got quite a good deal when we booked, it cost us £139.00 per person to swim, and £98.00 not to swim but included seaworld and busch gardens in with it so we got quite a good deal.

We actually went to Discovery Cove in Sept the day before hurricane Jeanne hit, and as our dolphin swim was in the afternoon it was definitely beginning to brew up by then. The water is quite cold anyway but the wind made it very chilly!
They won't close unless they absolutely have to, but if it does happen and you still have some holiday left afterwards then they should offer you another day - I know because I asked the woman who drove the courtesy car from Sea World, I was so relieved the hurricane didn't come on the day we'd booked but I did wonder what would've happened (and indeed what did happen to some as it did close the following day).
I hope you enjoy your day, it is an amazing experience!!

Dont worry loopy, they should be able to sort it for you, discovery cove is a magical place, so magical infact that they have dolphins on call, if one gets a bit wimpish they call another one in! really  it's what they call school rotation :rotfl:
But seriously, we did discovery cove this year, excellent day had by all, very much worth the money imho.
Have a great time.

There is plenty time for the weather forecast to change. We found when we were there a couple of weeks back the weather forecast said one thing but it did another, and the forecast changes every day.
Discovery Cove hold back space in the afternoon for any swims that have to be cancelled earlier in the day because of weather.
I really wouldn't worry about it, you'll get your dolphin swim fitted in somewhere :D

We went in September last year as Hurricane Ivan (I think) was brewing... We checked the weather the morning we were due to go and it said it would be cloudy in the morning and then raining by the afternoon. What we actually had was glorious sunshine, light breeze and the whole day was gorgeously magical...
Well worth the money - the snorkelling with fish and rays in one experience I won't forget in a hurry...
