Sorry if this has been covered, couldn't find it in the numerous "new policy" threads...

I have 2 "old" park hopper passes with unused days on them, can I trade them in toward purchase of new Magic your Way passes? It would make life a lot easier to have one pass in hand per person, instead of multiple passes to keep track of. Where can I trade them in? at the gate?? We're staying off property, but at OLCC which has a Disney planner desk.

Generally, when upgrading or changing tickets, it has to be done at guest relations at one of the parks or at DTD

I had a day left on some hoppers from 1999 and tried to upgrade/convert them to 7 day plus tickets this year .Tried at AKL and at one of the parks and eventually was told i couldn't do it ,you have to do it within a certain time period(i can't remember what they said). So back to the question i don't think you can ,unless someone knows different.

There is no time limit. You got a CM who didn't know what they were talking about Richard  too bad that happens all too often these days

do you get back what you paid for them rates, or do you lose money doing that?

Can I recommend that you hold onto them? The older passes are "park hopper" tickets, and with the new tickets, you will have to purchase the additional park hopping option onto the Magic Your Way park tickets. I know it's kindof a pain to remember which ticket has what, but just write the number of days on the back, perhaps?

hey yeah I want to know too. I bought park hoppers at Disney Store but now the new magic your way would be a better deal. Can I trade those in at the gate? OR is there some way to do it before I go?

Thanks

Be CAREFUL before you say it is a better deal. Park Hoppers NEVER EXPIRE. The new tickets do.

From Cinderella's post on the Magic Your Way tickets:

No Expiration Option - Regular Magic Your Way Tickets expire 14 days after their first use. Choosing the No Expiration option means you are free to come back and take advantage of unused tickets at any time. Extra cost on top of the base-price ticket starts at $10 for a 2-day ticket, up to $55 for a 7-day ticket.
