China's IPv6 Network Officially Up And Running

China announced it is the first country to implement a large network using IPv6. This next-generation Internet protocol can transmit data at 10 gigabits per second. China says it has achieved speeds of 40GB per second, a world record.

well actually... its more a question of do we want it ;-) ipv6 has been specified for years and years now but there's considerable arguments over its operation. Although.. I suppose I wouldn't mind 40GB/s ;-)
