View Full Version : Disturbing rumor about vouchers

Hmmmm...I saw this on another site so I went and checked it out. I did not see anything on Hotwire Savings Club though. Not selling meal vouchers would seriously put a damper on things......

As you have probably heard, Disney has changed their entire line of tickets
for 2005. They have taken all meal certificates away from everyone except
Disney hotels. You have to stay in a Disney hotel to get them. I guess it's
their way of trying to keep everyone on Disney property. We'll see if it
lasts, as I'm sure they will get many complaints.

I'm sorry we can no longer provide our customers with Character Breakfasts
or Quick 'N Casual Meal Certificates. It wasn't our choice and we feel badly
for our customers who depended on us for them.

Sincerely,
Betty

Have you called Hotwire to find out if you can order any?

I haven't called Hotwire. I try not to talk to them b/c they drive me crazy (short trip I know lol). The website lets me order them and I have sent an email.

You have Disney connections, have you heard anything?

Mickeymac

No, I've not heard a thing at all, but I'm frankly not surprised to read about it. Betty's pretty reliable. Most folks inside Disney that I work with aren't familiar with the vouchers at all, and I have to go through nine acts of God to get waivers for Princess breakfast bookings.

I know the current vouchers, if ordered, are good through the end of May, so perhaps that is some relief for those traveling ahead of time? I wouldn't wait on ordering them, however. My Hotwire subscription was cancelled ages ago, but I'm thinking of joining just to stock up through spring.

Stocking up is probably a good idea. I can't imagine that Disney wouldn't honor the current vouchers.

I'm just upset over the idea they may not be available after May 2005. Oh well, it was a good thing while it lasted and I worked it well :D

I'm beginning to think Disney doesn't want me visiting anymore with all these changes.....

There are changes, but there are ways around the changes, too. I was relieved, for one, to see the AP discounts carry out to April. :D I didn't think we'd be seeing those for a while.

Also, please write write write to request the Dining Plan for Annual Passholders. There's a lot of interest from my Guests on the plan, and a lot of them are writing in to request that it be added to AP room only bookings. I've heard a rumor that they are considering something, but do not know what.

Johnie

Where can I find info about the dining plan? And to whom do I write?

Mickeymac

You can learn more about the dining package at these pages:

To write a campaign letter to Disney's Annual Passholder department, send it to the attention of Annual Passholders at:

Walt Disney World Guest Communications
PO Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040

The email address is: wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

I hope this helps! :D

That is great, Johnie! I'd order them soon, though, before they won't let you.

I tried to rejoin, and they wouldn't let me. :(

Johnie

Why wouldn't they let you rejoin? We had that problem ages ago. Had to use Mike's name instead.

Is that meal plan your talking about the same one that's available to Florida residents MM?

I still have a Q&C Voucher from November. I was planning on using it at some point in Feb during ESPN weekend

For the smae problem you had, Johnie. I'm going to try DH's name later, but I'm so hogwild busy with the new packages, I just don't have time.

I was on hold for the DDE and got booted, too. My battery died! LOL!

JM, yes, it is, and Johnie did a bit of research and found it's available to all passholders now. Cinderella's got all the available restaurants listed. It would save us a ton of money on the table service dining, that's for sure!

I've always wondered if it was worth the $75 fee. I can't see how it is which is why I've never done it

Mickeymac

It's only $50 now, with a $25 discount, from what I've read. I know for my family of four, we would definately make out, but could see where you could be on the fence as a single. Then again, one card is good for up to ten people... :D

JuniorMickey

See, for $50, last year it would have been great since it can be used at counter service. This year, not so much
