Replaced? not on the same spot. With two highly themed water parks, I guess there is no need neither it makes business sense to try to rehab RC.
Just in case, here is some info I posted some time ago about RC:
This is an aerial view of Discovery Island and River Country. DI opened on April 8, 1974 as Treasure Island. The name was changed to Discovery Island on January 1, 1978. It officially closed on April 8, 1999 (exactly 25 years later) but continued to operate until July 9, 1999 after all the animals had been relocated to AK and other zoo's around the country.
River Country opened on June 20, 1976. It was the first and only water park at WDW until June 1, 1989 when Typhoon Lagoon opened, followed by Blizard Beach on April 1, 1995. It closed on September 1, 2001.

With the current expansion of T.L it looks very unlikely it will ever re-open or made into anything new, well at least in the short to mid term

Here are the details....
Disney announced at last their Master Blaster waterslide project that will open in Spring 2005. There will be three new slides a part of Hideaway Bay, a whole new themed area of the park. They describe the new attraction as a combination of steep drops and gravity defying “coaster-like” inclines where you are powered uphill by water jets. Riders will travel through what appears to be a rusted out tropical fruit facility, weaving the rides through the wreckage of the fruit plants old wash facilities
