Royal Plaza - Downtown Disney

Has anyone stayed here? I can only find old reviews which are a bit negative but from what Ive seen there has been a renovation since them so wandering if its good now? Most important for us is the location, we want to be a near downtown so we can get all the disney transport and go out at night etc. I'd like your opinions before we book:wink:

When do you plan on going?

Hotel Royal Plaze received a lot of hurricane and water damage last summer. They are closed indefinately for repairs.

Mary over at Mousesaver.com has given them very good reviews in the past

We liked it, but make sure you pay the extra for a tower room, they're very big and have a seating area and marble bathrooms. The annexe rooms were in dire need of a makeover and smelt musty. The public areas were all newly renovated and the location was excellent. The pool was VERY warm, like swimming in a jacuzzi! :)

i just found that out after posting the message sorry! Now looking at the Grosvenor which from November - now have brilliant reviews. Definately must have a tower room. it looks perfect to me :p
