This is a fantastic resort when I go with my parents we always stay here. There are loads of places to eat for pool snacks etc and several great restaurants, we loved the sports bar. They have a big games room for kids and the pool is fab the photos in the travel guides don't do it justice, it the biggest swimming pool in Orlando. We had a room looking out onto downtown disney and most nights depending on the weather you could see the fireworks from the parks.
Its also in a great location 10 min from disney and I-drive so I think you get the best of both worlds. The rooms are beautifully furnished and are big enough for a family of 5 i would recommend if you book here to ask for a room overlooking the large pool otherwise you could end up getting a view of the huge concrete car park. There is also a smaller pool which is much quieter and equally as nice.
Be warned that this is a convention centre hotel and you could end up with thousands of people for conferences staying at the hotel with their families in tow. The pool will be packed out during the day probably until just after lunch when they all head off again.
This is a great place to stay and i would highly recommend it. if you have any questions just let me know i've stayed here 7 times!

Thanks for your reply chaz.We booked this hotel last June for this July so is it too late to ask for a pool view room? Also I've heard that you have to pay for the car park,is this true?
Thanks, Micky

We have never had to pay for car parking, although I havn't been for 2 years. I would find it a bit strange if you did. They have two car parks there one which is all outdoors and then a multi story as an over flow. The only parking you had to pay for was valet which we never did so i shouldn't worry. July is a great time to stay at the hotel we were there for the 4th July (my bday) and watched the firework celebrations from our room.
Have you booked direct with the hotel or as a package? I booked my holiday in April with tcd at a disney property they wouldn't let me request a room when I booked with them but said I should fax a request over to the hotel or give them a call. They can generally accomodate for you providing they have the room.

There is nothing, that I could find, on their site, that indicates that you would have to pay to park.

They charge for parking. $15 a day for valet, $7 a day if you park your own vehicle. But they do have covered parking, which is so nice, that way your vehicle isn't sitting out in the sun all day.
We enjoyed staying there, but it is huge  They do have one of the best pool areas I have ever seen, and I travel alot.
Our son was able to fly down for a few days, and he said that they had one of the best work out rooms of any hotel he has been in. I didn't get a chance to go check it out.

Thanks everyone for your info.
Chaz we booked with TCD also so we may have to email the hotel direct. My only concern is that there is eleven of us going and they may not be able to accommodate us all.

I'd fax over a request and then call them a few days later to make sure they got it. I have read on another forum that when you book with TCD the hotel your going to doesn't get your details until a few days before. The only thing you can do is try thats what we are going to do. We are staying a the CBR and i'm going to fax them a request in the next few days.
