you wont get 10 cases in a 7 seater, we had a 7 str in oct, the dodge variant of the chrysler voyager and i was very disappointed with it hardly any luggage space at all. we had 5 cases and some carry ons and we were pushed to get that lot in, in fact we had to have a case in the passenger area. trip b4 that in 02 we had an 8 str dodge ram 1500 i think it was and it was huge loads of space, trip b4 that we had an 8 str again and i was a chevy astrovan with twin doors at the back and that had loads of space too.
hope this helps david :D

We had a 7 seater with 3 adults and a baby. With only 4 people we could fold the back set of 3 seats down to make extra space. On the way back to the airport we had 3 large holdalls, 3 small holdalls, 1 buggy folded, 3 carry-on bags and that lot filled the back space to the top. With the back seats up we would have had to shove bags around our feet and on the spare seats. Of course it's only for the journeys to and from the airport though.

We had to do 2 trips to DTD with our luggage for 4 adults 2 kids. We had holdalls too, not cases.

We have 4 adults and 2 children, we had 5 suitcases and 4 hand luggage, we did have to put some luggage in the main cab, however its only to and from the airport so i wouldnt worry.

i reckon you will be pushing it with that little lot david IMHO for a 7 str, the voyagers have as i mentioned b4 very little luggage space, just looked on dollar site for luggage space and a voyager has room for 2 big 3 small cases
i reckon you will have to u/g to a 8str, what airport are you flying into mco or sanford?

That's going to be a very tight squeeze.

We had an 8 seater on our last trip and if it is a possibility for you I would upgrade - it had loads of luggage space we probably had about 7 largeish suitcases plus hand luggage and a buggy and it fitted no problem. On our trips out each day it was great as we could fit two unfolded buggies in the back plus bags etc.

My mum and wife are quite small and need to squash up :fingers: and my bothers like a bean pole i mean perhaps i can get one of the smaller suite cases in one of the bigger ones.

We had 2 adults 2 kids, a buggy, 2 large suitcases, 5 holdalls and 3 hand luggage and we just managed it. Bearing in mind the holdalls stacked easier than cases, I think you're going to struggle. We had to go back for my parents and their loot. If you're using DTD check in and staying onsite, it's not that big a deal to do 2 trips like we did though.

Thank Paula,
We are staying at PC so not a big deal, i remember that before i have had enough room when we took 6 people however i can not remember how many cases we had.

we had 6 peeps 2 smallish kids and 4 smallish adults and we had a bit of a struggle, the problem is with the voyagers is, that the boot is not very deep at all 2ft and a bit if your lucky, if i remember rightly, see how much the difference is to u/g to a 8str it might not be that much damage to your wallet :D
also our cases were not the biggest, probably only got 3/4 in the boot with a few holdalls the rest had to go inside squashing the passengers, if you do over cook it, remember the police might give you a tug because of it,

yup, sure do :) But then we were on site and we found just as easy :D
Although we had a car for the day when we went this (sorry, last) year and loved it. We are thinking of hiring a car next time, but picking it up at the Dolphin the day after we land (no not to have to drive just off a flight).

Also, check with the airline for weight maximums for a suitcase. We flew United June of 03 and my large (but not gigantic) suitcase was overweight. We had to take stuff out of it. They had a max of 50lbs per bag
djhammon
January 6th, 2005, 22:02
We have 32kg per suitcase and 2 suite cases are allowed each

Virgin are very strict on allowances now too. They now have scales at DTD and any bag that the guys struggle to lift onto the vans are weighed. If they're overweight, they have to be unpacked. Those bags that unzip layer by layer are the worst, I was well over with one of those one year! Even outbound at Manchester this year my case was 2 kilos over or something and they made us repack. we managed to get it down to 30 kilos and they slapped a 'HEAVY!" label on it still :D

paula, when we went in oct, my nephews case was only 16kg, it was like a cigarette paper in weight
btw like your siggy pic of the girls :)

That was me travelling light  Outbound I put it all in 2 cases and took empty holdalls too so we could fit in the car! Unfortunately because I shove the whole lot in just 2 cases for 4 of us, they were heavy! Coming home we had 2 cases and 5 holdalls between the 4 of us. I obviously didn't buy enough because I didn't use all our allowance, we could have taken 1 more piece. Must try harder in October

i can just see it now, a 747 lurching to oneside on takeoff
djhammon
January 7th, 2005, 16:03
You will have to try harder Paula,
There is no way that i will not use all the weight up
5 x 32 = 160kg for 1 bag each
106 x 2 = 360kg of luggage! thats a **** of a lot to take or bring back

LOL! Despite Alec's numerous attempts at explaining how planes work, I still don't know how they take off with all that weight onboard. Best not to think about it and concentrate on shopping IMO!

I pay my own bills so he doesn't care! As long as he gets fed and watered on shopping trips, he tags along without too much fuss! :D
