WE will be in WDW for two weeks from 15th MAy 2005. At this time of year, how far out would I need to make PSs at the following restaurants? (we are from the UK, so if we could avoid having to call until we got to WDW then that would be great!)

Bomas
Calafornian Grill
House of Blues
Wolfgangs
Fantasmic Dinner Package
france (epcot)

Many thanks :D

90 days out if you want to guarantee you get in and especially if you want to dine at a specific time. If you wait until you get there you may end up having dinner at 4.00pm or something :)

Okay, thanks for that, looks like i'll have to plan a bit more detailed than i'd hoped. Maybe I'll just book a PS for 3 or so restaurants I really want to eat and then chance the rest when I'm there :wiggle:

I would definitely do Fantasmic, California Grill and France as soon as you can.

Don`t worry too much about it Ad.
There are mixed views on the entire PS issue. Many of the board members here make their PS`s well in advance of their vacation, and that is fine.
Personally though, unless we want to make a special reservation [say at V&A`s or Fantasmic for example] we don`t bother with them until we are there as I hate sticking to a rigid timetable.
So long as you are flexible in your dining times and venues, you should not have too many problems sorting things out when you are there. [We have adopted this principle even during the height of the holiday season].

Thanks for the tips! I have a slight dilemma - I love to plan things in detail, but my girlfriend (who wasn't originally over joyed with the idea of going to disney) is totally against the idea of planning!

I think i'll make a PS for Fantasmic dinner package though (as its something I defo want to do) and I know which day i'll be going to MGM.

Definately worth doing a PS for Fantasmic, and it is easy to do from the UK. Just one tip when I last rang they asked me to press the pound key - this is what we call the hash key, confused me at first but straight forward after that

Thanks for that Kevin - that probably would have thrown me too!! Now I can ring and get ready to press that hash key with confidence :D

Thinking about this topic a bit more, I have just created myself a mini-dilemma - I do hope someone can help on this one.

I was originally thinking to call 90 days before the START of my holiday to book a PS for all the restaurants (including Fantasmic package). However, thinking about this more I realised that i can only call 90 days before each day I plan to eat at a particular restaurant. Given I am calling from the UK, this would be expensive given I'd have to make a different call for every restaurnat I want to eat at.

We are going to WDW the last two weeks of May 2005, do you think it would be okay to wait unil 90 days before the END of my holiday, enabling me to book all PS's at the same time? I probably wouldn't be able to call until the Saturday (my holiday starts and finishes on the Sunday) anyway as I can't really call the States from work.

Many thanks :)

It makes sense to wait until 90 days before the end of your holiday and then book them all in one hit.
