:ears: hello everyone:

We're still planning our WDW holiday for summer 2006 and have had another thought. Having originally decided to stay at the Poly, we now think we might go for the GF as it's an extra special visit becuase DD1 will be turing 21 there, and DD2 will be turing 18 there.

We're planning on puchasing an AP to help us with the £££, and although we bare in mind discount codes aren't guarenteed, does anyone know if discounts are offered in the main building rooms and if so about how much would we be looking at for August time with a discount?

Also do the main buliding rooms at the GF have a day bed?

Thank you

I think they all have a day bed but I may be wrong. I am not sure if there are restrictions on the discounts, I've never had any problem getting one but I'm always going for the cheapest room possible so there may be restrictions on more expensive rooms. I've always lucked into getting really sweet AP rates!

We have a room booked there for October with a AAA (or AA) discount. The discount was 15%. For August 05 a main building concierge room would be $605 plus tax 11.5% so with if you could get a discount it would be around $570 a night based on 2005 prices. Worst case scenario is $670 a night based on August (value season) prices for 2005. :)

Thank you for the info BigThunder and Paula... however after just discussing the where to stay topic (yet again...) we've finally decided we'll stick with the Poly :fingers:

OMG, $605 a night plus tax!!!! In another thread I misunderstood someone saying you could stay at BCV 1br for 14 days for the same price as 4 nights at the GF. If this rate is true, I dont' think I did misunderstand. That is OUT-rage-ous!

Big Thunder, when I called at Christmas time (on a lark) to see if there were any availability at Pop Century, I was told no. So, natually, I asked if there were availability elsewhere. Sure! Where? AKL. Great! Howmuch? $1000+ per night for what was available! A two bedroom suite! Errrrmmm, no thanks! LOL!

OK, hate to rub it in, but, just received the airline employee rate of $340 per night including tax for the Grand Floridian main building concierge for the nights of Feb 9 and 10. We will be staying at the Beach Club deluxe room concierge on the 7th and 8th at a rate of $275 per night with tax.

I know that doesn't help, but I am so excited, I just had to tell someone.

We always thought it sounded expensive, but we worked out it's no more than we pay in Paris for a night in the Disneyland Castle Club. We decided on the GF MBC because it's our anniversary and we wanted it to be special. We've already agreed we'll go back to the Poly after the renovations are all done. We loved it there and i'm sure you will too T&P :D

You should be doing something special for your anniversary Paula! You both surely deserve a nice holiday!

Have fun planning!

Thanks 'Tink. :D Unfortunately funds definitely will not stretch to all 16 nights MBC

At the moment we have the Swan booked but we're still hoping to swap to YC or BC after having been to see them :D

We are going back in 2006 for our 5th wedding anniversary, are planning on staying at ASMo again so we can stay for extra time. However, if Virgin have that great discount again like they did this New Years day I may try and convince DH to go someplace nice, just for the one night (not that ASMo isn't nice, but you know what I mean).

Wow, OKWTink, $1,000 a night. I cannot imagine who can pay that much or warrant paying that much.
I would like to stay in the GF sometime but it would only be for a night or two tops. Then we'd have to do the switch & I'm just at this time not intrigued enough with staying at the GF to do that (I hate the switching).

I guess I'm cheap. I paid (for 8 night) at Pop less than one night at the GF would have cost me
