Has anyone ordered goods from the Main Street megastore website over the Christmas period. I ordered some items on 13th November and as I still hadn't received them I have sent them a couple of e-mails without reply. Today before trying again I went on to their website and they have issued the following statement.
*****Notice To Guests Who Placed Orders Between 11/1/04-12/31/04*****
Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it, you can do it”. In starting Main Street Megastore, it has been our dream to provide the thousands of items available exclusively at the Walt Disney World® Resort to our guests from the comfort of their own home. It originally sounded like a unique, fun, and exciting idea, so we decided to do it. Little did we know just how much interest there would be in a website like this.
Over the 2004 holiday shopping season, we received a flood of orders. So many that our entire infrastructure became severely overwhelmed. From shipping to guest services and everything in-between, we never could have imagined the volume we received.
If you have not yet received your order, it should ship within the next 2-10 business days. If you do not want your order once you receive it, simply write “Return To Sender” on the label to return it to us free of any additional charge. Upon receipt of your return, we will happily issue a full refund to your credit card.
It is our hope to have our system back up and in full operation by January 15th. We sincerely appreciate your continued patience and understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this highly unusual situation may have caused. We dreamed it, we did it, but now we need to make sure that we are fully capable of serving our guests at the highest level possible, the level they deserve.

Are they allowed to debit your card when they haven't shipped goods yet? That is a big no-no here in the US!
Hope all turns out well!

I have been looking into this and one thing that I discovered is that this store is not connected in any way to the Walt Disney Corporation. It is in fact a private operation that is based in Essex, Maine selling on excess Disney merchandise. On other websites I have discovered that there are numerous ongoing complaints for orders not received. I would suggest that no one orders anything from them until it is certain that you will get your orders.
While investigating this I came across the following statement from the Better Business Bureau.
General Information
ID: 0000091594

Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to unanswered complaints. :(
The company's size, volume of business and number of transactions may have a bearing on the number of complaints received by the BBB. The complaints filed against a company may not be as important as the type of complaints, and how the company handled them. The BBB generally does not pass judgment on the validity of complaints filed. The following data concerns complaints processed by the BBB over the last 36 months.

Hello, every one. I am new to this board and the reason I joined is that, last month, I placed an order for two Mulan DVDs with "Main Street Megastore". I have not received the items and I could not find contact details for Main Street Megastore (other than a "Contact Us" button on their web page). There is no street address or even a telphone number.
I wanted to contact them to inquire about my order. But it seems like they take your money and run. I can't believe I have been so gullible.
Has anyone have a similar experience? How can I contact this company?
I would greatly appreciate any help or info. Feel free to email me.

It is very hard to contact them once you have placed an order as they do seem to ignore any e-mails that you send:( . However anyone that has sent an order does seem to get their goods in the end although it does seem to take forever. it is not much help but if you hang on for a couple of Months your Dvds will arrive eventually.
Welcome to the Boards. :) :)
