We are trying to plan a trip for 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) in May, 2005. I was wondering if anyone knows if any of the moderate resorts on the park will allow us all to stay in one room. I would appreciate any help on the moderate resorts as I am a little confused on what are my best options. We are sooooooooooo looking forward to this trip and want it to be a great experience.:D

I'm not really sure, but I know that someone with great knowledge will be along soon.

However, I did want to Welcome you the boards. :)

Hi,

The only rooms I know of in a moderate that sleep six are the suites at The Coronado Springs Resort. They are fairly expensive though ranging from $300./night to over a $1000./night. For the price you can get two conncecting rooms, which is what a junior suite really is - a double room with one set up as a bedroom and one as a living room. I also would guess they book fast and you may have difficulty finding one for this May.

You could also look into a villa-either on site or off site or renting DVC points.

You'll be better off getting two rooms at a value than going for the suite :)

Two connecting rooms at a Value resort would be a better--well...value!

However, if you want to have a full kitchen, a full laundry room, a jacuzzi tub, and some privacy from each other, check into the cost of a DVC 2 bedroom villa.

You may be pleasantly surprised. If you are not pleasantly surprised, then go with the two rooms at a value resort. They really are nice places and I've always preferred them over moderates (I never could quite see what more I was getting for my money at a moderate than was available at a value).

We have a family of five and stayed at coronado springs in 2000, but in 2002 and again in october this year we stayed at ASM in two rooms and it worked out cheaper, the rooms were plenty big enough, make sure you ask for interconnecting rooms if you want them. We stayed off site last year on i drive and had a rollaway in the room, it was more cramped our youngest child is 9 but fine for the amount of time we spent in the room.

Unfortunately, moderate resorts only accommodate 4 with 2 double beds ...there is 1 resort that will hold 5 and that would be Port Orleans Riverside in the Alligator Byou section and that would be 2 doubles with a trundle bed option and they charge an extra $15 per night for it as well as an extra $25 per each adult beyond 2 per night staying in the room  And then as mentioned CSR has the jr.suite that holds 6 but that can be quite pricey.

Options for 6 on sight are as follows:

2 rooms (either get them connecting or adjoining) at a value resort or even a moderate if the rate suits you. This is most likely your least expensive option and you get 2 bathrooms and 4 beds this way.

FW Cabins accommodate 6 with a double or queen (can't remember) bed and a set of bunkbeds in the bedroom and then a Murphy bed that pulls down out of the wall in the living room. The cabins have 1bathroom but hold 6 comfortably and have a full kitchen which could save on meals if you don't mind cooking a bit (saves on breakfast if you grab bagels and / or cereal and such even if you don't want to do any major cooking;) ) and you'll have a deck to sit on at night. I've seen the cabins go for as little as $144.00 per night with a discount code at times :)

A Jr.suite at Coronado Springs resort will accommodate 6. This often costs more than 1 room at a deluxe but deluxes only accomodate 5 and also often is more expensive than 2 rooms at a value resort or even 2 rooms at a moderate.

A Jr.Suite at WL will accommodate 6 but again because WL is a deluxe resort, it will cost even more than the Jr. suite at CSR.

There are lots of Suites at any of the deluxe resorts in WDW that will accommodate 6 but IMO you need to hit the lottery to afford them.

Next option would be a 2bdrm villa at any of the DVC resorts. These accommodate 8 with a king bed in the master bdrm,2queen beds in the 2nd bdrm, and a queen size pull out sofa in the living room. They also have full kitchens and in room laundry, as well as a jacuzzi tub in the master bath,2nd bathroom off the 2nd bdrm, and a nice size balcony. This option is by far the most luxiourious and comfy but can be very pricey. Most often times you can rent the points for your stay for much less through a DVC member than to book directly through Disney. If you'd like more info. on renting points PM me and I'll explain further.

Unfortunatley, affordable onsight options beyond 5 people are really limited. You may be able to book at off sight places for much less $$ but those are your basic on sight options.
