boat launch to campfire

I was wondering if you can walk from the wilderness side of the boat launch to the campfire and if so how long of a walk.I know there is a bus but I dont know if it is necessary to take the bus.
What I am trying figure out is what time I should leave the park and head over to the campfire.

You'll want to take the bus. You could walk, but it's a long way.

Also, pay close attention to the time when the last boat comes. It wasn't late enough for us to stay for the whole movie last time.
