Thanks to you guys /gals bringing this annual pass privalage to my attention.
Rung them this evening 14:30 US time and got a recorded message but left my phone number and was called back 2 hours later.
No problem all sorted out and because myself and the DW have PAP we are both getting a DDE card but are only paying the $50 the once and not each (although I would not have purchased one each) which is another added benefit.

Great news! I'm glad to hear the people overseas aren't having a problem getting the card.

Have you ordered it Keith?
I'm actually hearing rumors that you don't even have to have an AP or be a FL resident to buy it.
Keith

Yep... (in theory).... and its apparently true that you don't need fl or ap to order it... if you have ap you get $25 off so you get it for $50. Without an ap they apparently charge $75

It's a discount dining card Vikki. This (http://www.wdisneyw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33185&highlight=disney+dining+experience) thread explains a lot of it.

to followup to my own post....
When I ordered, the guy said he'd send an email within 24hours. I didn't get it... so mickeymac very kindly followed up for me to save me the expensive phone calls.
It turns out they're very backlogged indeed! Thanks to mm I now have my email, but just to let others know, don't worry too much if you don't get charged for it/emailed straight away.
Also apparently it's not open to "anyone" as I was told for $75, only to AP/florida residents :/ Seems a shame such a great scheme is being run with so few staff.

Well true to there word, they said 4 weeks and here we are 4 weeks later and my cards arrived in the post this morning.
Everything in place now, just waiting for the flight tickets and the day to depart.

They are credit card style not paper/card, have a glass and bottle of wine on with what looks like a strawberry. No sign of Mickey, could have been a bit more imaginative. At work at mo, but will try and post a picture tomorrow.

oooo excellent!!
any paperwork with them saying it's valid for alcohol as well as food? ( I know it is, but I'm looking for something official that says more than "valid for all food and beverage" in case I need to show evidence at the restaurants!)

The sheet that the cards were attached to list all the dining places that the card is accepted at and states that you are entitled to the 20% off all food and beverages, not too sure if the word alcohol was mentioned, but will check when I get home tonight. Would argue that alcohol is a beverage though.

yeah I'd argue the same... it's just I suspect it WILL be an argument at some places ;-) thanks!

Yes, I know what you mean and am expecting the same, will let you know in April how I got on.

I'll just argue!!!!! :D
So far this seems like a really good deal. Please don't let them take V&A's of the list before I get there.

I think this is going to be really popular, so hopefully the CM's are competently trained. Good to hear the cards are real plastic :D

If they are going to argue the point, they WILL argue that the "beverage" does not include alcohol, and it clearly does. Take whatever you have (I used to carry the promo add that clearly stated alcohol) and keep it with the card at all times. And then still expect to have some CMs totally uniformed.
Because it is not a really new program, I'm hoping the training has caught up by now and that all of you are able to fully enjoy the card.
It is a really sweet deal, when it works properly. Pays for itself nearly immediately.

Hey Tink,
Is it true that free valet parking is included?
Dizneemad
February 8th, 2005, 20:33
It also states on the accompanying paper that the card is good for upto a party of 9.Which is good as there will be 9 of us this April, although DW has a card also, so we would have got sorted one way or another.

I honestly don't remember, Johnie. I do think it is, but I use DVC for that, so never had to worry about whether or not the DDE card covered it.
If I remember correctly, I think there was a provision for free valet parking as long as you could demonstrate that you'd dined at one of the qualifying places.
You'd still have to tip the valet though, of course. :D

Just returned home from 5 days at the Walt Disney Resort. Now granted we ate at Beaches and Cream once for lunch, twice for desert, Le Cellier once, Rose and Crown, once, Cape May, once, Hollywood and Vine, once, and Whispering Canyon Cafe, once, with two adults and two children. All said, we saved right around $140. Each of the Cast Members we presented the email memo to, were well informed and informed us of what a great deal we had enrolled in. I had not one bad experience. The alcohol was always included in the discount. I think the recent addition of the availability to AP holders has brought the program to the forefront where it was rarely used in the past. /We shouldn't say too many good things about it, or they will take it away for next year/ i.e. Magic Kingdom Club and Disney Club memberships.

That's excellent news! Thanks for the report :)))
I agree about them taking it away too though... it feels altogether too good a deal to be a Disney norm

How can I get one of those Memberships from Disney! I only have till March 19 2005 to get it? Is it even possible? How can I get one when I'm not from FL?
Mickeymac
February 14th, 2005, 20:42
If you are an Annual Passholder, you can purchase the membership, if you are not a Florida resident. Do you have an AP?

If you are an Annual Passholder, you can purchase the membership, if you are not a Florida resident. Do you have an AP?Well no I'm not a Annual Pass holder. (AP = visiting every year for the last few years?) Or ( just buy an annual pass and that will give me the right too buy a membership to ?)
I was just looking to save a little money on our trip to FL but looks to me like this will not be helping me do that this year anyways!
We'll be staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort and am just wondering how I can save a little. Also I'm looking for a little help in deciding what one should attend while on the Disney Properties. I'd like to attend some dinner shows but have know Idea what's available.
Does anyone have a link I could follow that well tell me what Disney has to offer.
Thx guys/gals:)
Dwight:)
