Coffee makers are now available in all Walt Disney World® Resort Deluxe and Moderate resort hotel rooms.

Regular and decaffeinated coffee packages and condiments are now provided at no additional charge and will be replenished on a daily basis.

It's about darn time. :D Too bad they didn't include the value resorts. Those folks deserve a cup of morning java in their rooms too. :D (Especially since I intend to be one of them on a regular basis).

Thanks for the info.

Make sure you clean out the coffee pot prior to using it.

Do I want to know why you are telling us to do that? I only ever look into the reservoir, and check the carafe of course.

Do you mean to wash it, or to run a cycle with just water?

I agree Tink. I wish they would put them in all resorts. With the price differential now and the added amenities, I am seriously thinking hard about the values. I do love the theming, but really love having a cold beverage after a long day at the parks, and a hot cup of tea in the morning.

Ooooh, I should ask if tea is part of the added amenity or not.

Johnie, good point. :D

Wash it. No, you don't want to know. I've been on many a hotel job site from swanky to lower budget. Let's leave it at that.

If it's the same set of stuff as has been in the moderates/deluxes I stayed in December, there's a couple of packs of coffee, couple of de-caf but no tea <G>

Actually I think we probably do want to know ;-) so we can decide whether to risk using it at all

ok you've been warned..........don't read below if you don't want to know.

Housekeeping will rinse out the pot with water. They also have one rag on their caddy. That same rag will clean the sink, the excess on the toilet and the inside of that coffee pot and the glasses. I've seen it done everywhere I've done job site training.

....but it sounds totally plausible :(

They have these dishwashing wipes that you can buy in any grocery store here. I advocate buying some to take with you.

Oh dear G-d. Well, we did really want to know! I'm serious. I'll never take a coffee pot or a glass for granted again. (The cleanliness of it).

I once read though that most commode seats were cleaner than the sponge you use in your kitchen (if you are a sponge person). That just supports what you said.

Oh, ick. It's just starting to sink in. Nasty. Blech. Disgusting. Oh gross. I'm not even going to USE the coffee pot, or the glasses! Or the sink!!!!

Heck, I'm just gonna' stay HOME!

'Tink,
Maybe it would be best to run the caraf through the dishwasher before use...
(I guess that would work at DVC 1,2 or 3BR units anyway....)

Johnie,
I always wondered how they kept those carafs so sparkly clean... :D (bleak!)

Let me repeat....dishwashing wipes are a wonderful thing. They are also pretty cheap.

I always do that DC. Part of my settling into the Villa is to load the dishwasher and wash the entire contents of the cupboards, and the stove drawer. I just can't stand the thought of who might have done what to them.

I just never thought about the coffee makers in a regular room. Or the glasses. :( Can't say as I'll ever forget now though!

I like the paper cups myself.

I do the same thing when we go to a timeshare! DH thinks I am crazy but I've seen too much.

Completely agree! I always wash the glasses in hotel rooms before use. I've watched housekeeping in upscale and low-budget facilities clean them.

I've reached the point where I favor the low-budget, prewrapped, disposable tumblers!

I'm starting to like paper now, too. :D

Johnie,
I will be washing mine out before using it-thanks for the warning. Dolphin had the coffemakers in the rooms already....probably because its not a disney resort.

Are they still doing the refrigerators in the rooms as well. If so does this apply for the dolphin Resort?

My mum was bragging that they had a coffe maker in POFQ and we didn't get one at the Poly......should I tell her

Mac, they didnt provide the condiments required for tea with our coffeemaker at POFQ, we just grabbed a handful of tea-bags and stuff from the foodcourt though :)

Hi Kiltie, thank you. I called POR last night and you'd have thought I asked the world's most stupidest question. That's a good tip to boost them from dining!

Bambi, I do not know if the Swan or Dolphin intend on putting refrigerators into their rooms at this time, but if we find out, we post it.
