It's true indeed that September is hurricane season, and last year saw one of the hardest seasons yet. However (and this is the part you'll want to read to your fiancee  ) My family and I LOVE to go in September. We've been the past 4 years, around the same time you are planning, for our children's b-day's(w/ the exception of last year, we were in the process of moving :) what a blessing that was) and have NEVER had a problem with the weather. On the contrary, with the exception of maybe on or two rainshowers, the weather has always been exceptional, not too hot, not too cold! In addition, the crowds are low and the parks are WONDERFUL!!

Of course, no one can predict the future (especially the weatherman) but HEY!!! You'll be on your honeymoon!!!! Rain or shine, it'll be a GRAND time :D

Thanks for the information - any reassurances I get are good - I am looking forward to going as I have not been since I was a child - I know it has changed a lot!!

Hurricanes are unpredictable beasts. Last year (and I really want to believe this) was a fluke season. Florida had never been hit that hard during a hurricane season. Let me put it this way. I have lived down here for almost 11 years. Prior to last year, I had been through one Cat 1. hurricane and a tropical storm. Last year, in my area, we got 2 hurricanes.
