Disney playing with new 'Toy Story' script
Disney is working on a script for Toy Story 3 and recruiting animators to work on the sequel, likely to be made without input from the creators of the original animated hit, Pixar Animation Studios.
Disney did not have to look far for a storyline for Toy Story 3. The winning premise came from Jared Stern, a participant in the company's feature animation story development program.
Mr Stern pitched a proposal for the film, which the studio sparked to but is keeping under wraps.
According to Disney, no determination has been made on whether Stern will pen the Toy Story 3 screenplay himself, or whether other writers will be involved.
The relationship between Pixar and Disney is scheduled to expire once Pixar completes John Lasseter's upcoming Cars. As a result, Disney is working on Toy Story 3 by itself.
