I've just realised that, whilst i'm in WDW in May, Star Wars Episode III will be released.

What is the cinema like? Is it crowded? Can you book in advance?

By the time i'm in WDW I probably won't even consider going to the cinema (far too many other things to do), but I'm asking just in case :D

Its a decent enough cinema with loads of screens :) you can book in advance online or you can use a credit card booking machine by the cinema to book you ticket in advance too. I saw a couple of movies there in December :)

We saw a couple of film on our December trip. I loved the AMC (think that was the one) Cinema that was at Downtown Disney, the seats were big and comfy, the arm rests in the middle of each chair went up so you could make yourself as comfortable as you wanted, plenty of leg room, so much nicer and cleaner that the UK cinemas, puts us to shame really, well my local UGC anyway.

my only tip would be to take a jumper they have the air-con on really cold and if your in shorts and t-shirts it can get a bit cold after an hour or two :sorry:

it is a nice cinema though and great big chairs

All movie theaters do that for some reason. I need a sweater as soon as I sit down in there.

For EpI, our team went to see it the day it came out at AMC - PI  . We'll have to organize a team blend again to see EpIII

So, given the expected surge of people to go and see this film on the week of its release, would you suggest booking tickets in advance?

Yes  . I have never had a problem seeing a movie the day of it's release at AMC, for either one, EpI or EpII.

We buy in advance for the first showing the first day, not the midnight show, but the morning show, around 10:00am - 11:00am. Since it's Disney and people are at the parks and CMs have such strange work schedules, I've been there in line an hour before, maybe in the first 20-30 people in line.

But if you wait for the second or third, you are going to be waiting a loooooong time.

It's your choice, if you want to sacrifice a day in the parks to go see EpIII and then just do something else, maybe shopping at DTD, I'd say that is what you should do. I would :D .

I have to say, after seeing the trailer for EpIII on www.starwars.com I may well see a morning showing on one of our "off days" from the parks :D

The day it came out, we saw it in one of our conference rooms that has a multimedia pc with surround speakers. We all got goosebumps after watching it  .

I really hope they develop the Wookies well. The scene where they are standing over the wall and doing their war yell reminded me of the movie Braveheart.
