Someone (sorry-can't remember who!) thought of decoupaging park maps to those wooden craft trays. The kind that have sides about 1" to 2" high with handles at each end? You could do the same with calendar pictures. Just be sure to use several coats of your decoupage medium (i.e., ModPodge) or clear coat to protect them!

this could be the start of another cool art project for me also. I've got so many Disney calendars and they're just sitting in the bottom of a drawer! Thanks.

Sorry, Mary! They're trays made of unfinished wood and available in craft stores.
If you have stuff lying around (my father's workshop and my mother's sewing room were magical places for me!), you can make them from scrap wood, cabinet doors or picture frames (add wood for the bottom) and add cabinet handles on top or the side.
The pre-made wooden trays are available in 3 or 4 sizes, have a bottom, sides that are about 1" to 2" high, and holes cut in the ends for handles. You can paint them, decoupage them, or anthing you might want to do.

What about buying a pre-made poster frame (around $15 to $20 on sale) and making a series of collages on posterboard to interchange in it?
