The only flights I can get at Christmas that don't need the house re-mortgaging are on Air Canada via Toronto.
Anyone flown with them, know anyone that has, know a second cousin of a twice removed uncle that may have any info?
Bless him, DH pulled his finger out to get them. Yes! The man that didn't want to go to Florida again................ever. :D
There's hope yet.

Our accountant when on a tour of Canada last year WQ and I'm sure it was Air Canada he flew with. I can check when he gets back in the office Monday for you. I remember him saying how good the flights were so lets hope it was them. :D

Nanny Lesley has flown Air Canada to Vancouver. I'll check with her tomorrow and get back to you.

Being Canadian, it's my choice of airlines. I've flown a few other (smaller) Canadian airlines domestically, and Northwestern and Delta into the US. My choice would be Air Canada. The flight crew is always nice and very helpful. We also have a friend who is a stewart for Air Canada and he loves his job. IMO that's a good sign. Note: all announcements will be made in English and French. :)

Thanks all. Any info gratefully received.
Eeyore, I knew we had a couple of members from Canada but couldn't remember who. Thank you.
I've told all family members that an indirect flight will be an adventure  and to treat it as such.
DH will contact their special assistance service and, hopefully, we'll get escorted to the on-going departure gate.
Oooo! I'll be able to say I've been to Canada................for 3 hrs.

I`ve used Air Canada on a couple of business trips and I would certainly recommend them.

Well, there you go. I thought I knew no one that had travelled with them. This is very heartening.
Thanks Terry.

Does that mean you'll have to go thru immigration twice? Once in Canada, then agan in Orlando?

I don't believe this is the case. As long as you don't leave the upper level where all the gates are, I don't believe you do immigration until you reach your destination. (please correct me if I am wrong). I would recommend checking before you leave what terminal you arrive at and which you leave from. It may take a while to get from one to another.

As far as I can gather, we arrive and leave through the same Terminal.
I don't invisage any problems as DH will need assistance and wheelchair through the airport. If the person pushing the wheelchair doesn't know where he's going we might be in trouble though! :rotfl:
I've perused the website and the seats are bigger than Virgin. They have a big list of disabled stuff they are prepared to do. :D

That's what I've been missing, my own personal guide thru Pearson International in Toronto.
Airline staff has always been so accomodating. I flew with Liam when he was 6 weeks old (by myself) and they were there to offered to carry all my other stuff while we boarded. They came and sat next to me while we got situated and offered to hold him while I buckled in. They gave me very own, personal safety lecture. And even told me to buzz if I needed a washroom break that they'd be more than happy to sit with him.

I know Eeyore, on the list it's says they'll even check if the disabled person needs help AND give it!!!! Result!! Saves me doing it. :rotfl:

Wow! That's service!
If you fly Air Canada and discover you like them, perhaps you can plan your future west coast tour to include a few days in Vancouver, BC. It's gorgeous! :)

Hello!
I have flown with AC a number of times, (and am due to fly with them again in two weeks) with no problems. The last time I flew with them my incoming and outgoing gates were practically right next to each other, so it was great. :)

They are a star alliance member so dont forget to join their frequent flyer club because you can then use the points on any of the star alliance carriers... i.e United Airlines or BMI....
