Time to get your Imagineering hats on (no imagineering hat smilie, so this will have to do :Pirate: )
Imagineer a whole new Disney Resort Hotel!
Where would it be located?
What would the theme be?
How themed would the rooms be?
What extras would you like to see in the rooms?
Would it have a themed pool?
What about the restaurants and fast food places?
What would you like to see on the menus? Buffet style or family-style or a la carte?
This is your chance to think up your perfect Disney hotel, so get creative! :)

I would love to see a Villains resort!!
It would be in the style of an old castle. The rooms would be cream so they're not too dark, but with big wrought iron gothic beds and wrought iron furniture and big heavy drapes (purple). There will be a big bowl of shiny red apples in each room, daring you to eat them and the pics on the wall will have moving eyes. :afraid:
It would be located behind the ToT (we can imagine a big plot of spare land :D ). The pool would be a coffin shape, with a huge statue of Ursula with her tentacles (is that the right word? ) being lots of slides into the water. A sit down restaurant would be themed on the Haunted Mansion set and you would be served by gairy butlers. Menu would be based round gairy sounding foods like blood soup :D

I'm not going to go into a lot of detail here but I am staying in a Homewood Suites Hotel here in Colorado Springs. I have a bedroom, bathroom, and a living area. The living area has a full size refrigerator, sink, stove, coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, work area, TV (also one in bedroom) and a fold out queen size couch/bed. They also have two bedroom suites available. I believe Disney needs to start thinking about providing this type of resort in the moderate price range.

Puala, that sounds really cool, yet, v. creepy
My idea is for an All American Resort, it would be located around 7 seas lagoon, and would have a stop on the monerail. Each room would have a state, such as Alaska. There would be different things according to the state. Say for instance, your in a Vermont rooom, every night you'd get a maple sugar candy on your pillow. Different touches like that. There would be 2 pools are 7 hot tubs. The main pool would be shaped like the USA, with diffent colours of title on diffent states. The second pool would be shaped like alaska and have a slide down the pan handle. The hot tubs would be shaped like the hawaiian islands. There would be 3 resterants. One is a fast food place, with american favorites, like hot dogs and hamburgers, basicaly, a back yard grill. There would be a fancy hotel at the top of the resort that has different speicallys everynight. Fresh fish from Alaska to gumbo! different types of ethnic food within the us. There would also be an ice cream shoppe called "American Creams" Ive been working on a map of the hotel and hope to build a model as soon as i can get the measurements

OK my idea would be for a new budget hotel. I think they missed a great opportunity with the All Stars resorts.
Hotel would be divided into 2 Disney Classics and Modern Masterpieces
Disney Classics
Snow White Block
3 Buildings each with a large statue icon over the central stairwell like Pop century.
1 Would be Snow White Dancing with Dopey/Sneezy
1 Would be Grumpy on his organ
1 would be Happy and Doc playing their instruments
the forecourt would be filled with woodland trees to create a forest feel - the pool would be Apple shaped and the end staircases would be wishing well shaped. Laundry could be made to look like the dwarves cottage.
The lobbies of the buildings would be made to look like the Dwarves mine with fake wooden lintels and jewels buried within the 'stone' - the lifts could be made to look like mine lift easily.
Rooms would be standard fare for the budgets with a snow white border and perhaps a shaped mirror.
Pinocchio Block
As Above regards the layout
1 Pinocchio Skipping Statue with Jimminy on his Shoulder
1 Gepetto Dancing with his accordian
1 Figaro and Cleo Statue
Courtyard would be made to look like the streets of the film with streetlights and curbs and posters for Stromboli's theatre pasted on noticeboards - laundr would look like strombolis caravan
Swimming pool would be whale shaped, lobbys could be made to look like toy shops with clocks and jack in the boxes etc on shelvesEnd staircases would be stars.
Peter Pan Block
Statues
1. Pan in Window Statue
2. Tinkerbell on alphabet block
3. Wendy. Michael and John Holding hands and flying Statue
Central couryard would be focused around a Pirate ship Play area and water fountains - deatiled to look like captain hooks ship - rubber matting all round to look like the sea with croc poking his head out. ' water splash fountains all around' - also indian dry play area to the side of the buildings
Stairwells at ends are big ben, lobbys of buildings are made to look like the lost boys hideout. Laundry area is made to look like nursey wuith nana's kennel to one side
Cinderella Block
Fairy Godmother statue
Mice working on Dress statue
Cinderella and Prince Dancing statue
Courtyard is themed to look like a ballroom with a tiled floor incorperating the pool shaped like the carriage- smaller statues of the ugly sisters talking behind fans are situated to one corner. In the bushes lucifer stalks gus. Lobbys are made to look palacial with sweeping arches, The laundry is made to look like a small castle. the stairways at the ends of each building are reels of thread and needles
Reception
Reception area is packed with memorabillia and cels/maquettes from the films and others not listed pre 1960. A alrge screen in the foodcourt plays the films constantly and characcters from other films not featured in the buildings are suspended from the ceiling.
Characters do meet and greets in the hotel as well
Just a thought so far - will do the modern classic when I get a mo

Oooo, never been to this bit of the boards before, but since Joanne instructed it, here I am :D
Ooooo, so many ideas. Just an initial thought though, the only really Disney themed resort is ASMo right? Wouldn't it be nice to have another resort based on Disney characters?

Yeah I think its a waste - its hardly as if they'd have to aplly for the licences and it's the reason everyone flocks to ASM

Well....my first thought was "Villians"...PaulaK...sign me up now.
Also really like the idea of a kind of "Disney Classics"...the older animations that we all grew up with...except I can't watch Bambi and Dumbo...or the beginning of Fox and Hound :)
A whole cat/dog themed place....with available pets to have in your room if you miss your own! Dog rooms and Cat rooms....with real live pets to greet you when you get back to the room!

Paula your idea sounds great, I kind of had the same idea, but I have modified my idea a bit......
ok, so the main building is shaped like a huge "British/Norman" castle, with a draw bridge over a moat leading to reception.
On the other side of the draw bridge there would be a statue of Pete's dragon.
In some of the rooms, there would be HUGE 4 poster beds, with rich and luxuries drapes in dark reds or purples....
The hotel complex would be built around a centeral court yard, with 2 big pools, linked by a small channel with a bridge over it, like a bridge to play 'pooh sticks' on.
And there would be the sword in the stone somwhere.....
and the restuarants would serve traditional English food...

I think there should be a peter pan themed hotel you should get to choose to be either a lost boy or a pirate
one side should be themed likke the treehouse and the other like the deck of a pirate ship there would be a statue of the crocodile chasing captain hook on the pirate side
and tink on the lost boy side
there would be mosquito netting and leafy green bedding on the lost boys side and canvas beddign on the other with a map of neverland handpainted on it.
ther would be two restaurants one would be seafood and the other a dessert mecca what lost boy eats vegetables?
pools would be a mermaid lagoon and the other would be shaped like a cannon

:iagree:
After staying at the Staybridge (formerly Summerfield) Suites (LBV) last year, thats exactly how DH and I felt. They were perfect for families and even extended families....we were in a trio suite - 2 queen beds in one bedroom, one kingsize in other bedroom and a sofa bed in the living area. ( 3 TVs) 2 bathrooms. PLUS a dining table and full-size well-equipped kitchen. Heaven! All this at an excellent rate.
Come on Disney, any theme will do....but get catering for ALL family groups please.:ears:

I love Paula's idea!!
Lets see.. what else can I think of.... lol
A castle... wouldnt you love to stay in a castle??, in a tower? overlooking MK???....Let everything be medieval looking sort of Lord of the Rings meets Cinderella...
One restaurant could be a dungeon, and another could be in the central hall of the castle... you could have both Princess meals and also... ummm.. what about the sword in the stone?? Robin hood?? and those type of character meals!
Another idea, not so Disney related, but I would love to stay in a Hindu type resort.... very relaxing, with a spa, the smell of incense, lots of curry in the menu, lots of silk embroidered fabrics, maybe cushions on the floor in different areas of the lobby... uh uh!! one of those guys with a serpent that makes the serpent come out when he plays the flute... ok.. that could be scary though.... :afraid:
