DS & DIL tell us after everything booked and deposit paid on flights & villa that they cant get time off work on the dates booked.
They can go on 30 sept but we are unsure wether to change ours holiday to fit in.
Can anybody tell us what the weather is like first 2 weeks in October and what time it gets dark? Also how much colder will it be. Most villas seem to suggest having pools heated at this time of year.

Unless an odd cold snap moves in the weather should be wonderful.
DST does not take effect that early in October so you'll still have sun til 8:30 pm or so.

I'm a cold wimp and later in the month I need a long sleeved tshirt at night. Early in the month you'll find beautiful weather!

MNSSHP is in October too. The weather is some of the nicest you'll find all year. It is warm and not too terribly humid. I'd doubt that you'll need the water heated in the pool, but you might.
Bring a jacket or sweater with you and at least one pair of trousers and you'll be fine.

only been last two weeks but i think the weather then is superb, very hot nearly all the time, hardly ever any showers IME, 1st trip no rain whatsoever, 2nd trip about 4 days at around 4pm always a quick downpour, then brilliant sunshine again, 3rd trip was a week and a bit later on the 28th so right at the end of oct weather was again superb, slightly humid in the daytime and evenings :D
so overall its superb :D they will have a great time :D

October is probably my favourite time to go. The weather is gorgeous without as much of the nasty humidity, it gets darker a litle earlier than in the height of summer but that gives an opportunity to see everything lit up, and if you can get to see Halloween stuff and the EPCOT food festival even better!
On the issue of pools, IMO a heated one would be advisable if you swim late evening (as I do).

I went those dates last year and I could not no way have worn a sweater... I would have died from the heat. Shogie you will have nooooo worries mate. I loved the air con in the hotel room and by god did we need it. Tink and JM are so used to the weather... sweater! long sleeved nightie? LOLOLO! Tink... we`re coming from the UK! LOLOLOLO! Take them but you won`t use them! The pools were like bath water temperature... I even asked the lifeguard if it had been heated and he said "No not yet" then I looked at his brown legs... and those little golden hairs curling on them.........(Snap) then hubby came back and gave me my drink.....

our first experience of a pool at my friends villa where we stayed, someone had turned the solar panels off and the water was absolutely freeeeeeeeeeeezzing, i never went in the pool the whole trip, mikey was the only one and the two kids from the other family we went with, it just took your breath away :cold: :cold:
as ive only been october previously, i'd never ever worn a sweater, even when its raining its still hot, and always worn shorts even in the evenings :D
apart from the latter part of this trip when the evenings got quite chilly but it was november, think i'll stick with last 2 weeks in oct

We went the middle 2 weeks in sept last year & found the pool slightly cool at night so we might opt for pool heating this year. (what a wimp)
The temp inside the villa must have been about 70f & coming in after a swim it felt FREEZING. :rotfl:

I've been twice in the latter part of October. Didn't have a single shower either time. Weather was great. Shorts in the day, jeans and a long-sleeved shirt at night.

When we went a couple of years ago, we stayed on site and I thought the pool was a little chilly. Even DD thought it was. The weather in general wasn't too bad. I agree with JM, bring a sweatshirt cause you never know.

Have been twice in October and the weather was perfect both times. Warm and sunny with only the occasional shower. Even when it was dark it was still ok for shorts and t-shirt.
