Right. All systems go and saving like mad. Have planned saving budget and am not looking to take lots of money with us as we probably wont have much. So I planned to look at the sale items here in england regarding anything Disneyish. I dont want to come back empty handed to my nieces/nephews and bestest friends but also dont want to queue for hours in various shops whilst on holiday searching for bargins I probably cannot still afford. So heres the question. Do you think its cheating but ok to give the gifts and let everyone assume they came from our holiday without actually telling them they did. I bought some Disney character drinks glasses with coke bottles in a sort of gift box from a cheapie shop as the coke had passed it sellby date. They cost me 50p each so ive already got 6 glasses for gifts. Ive also got 4 beach towels from the Disney shop which were only £6 each but I paid £20 for the 4 - another bargin. Thought Id continue to look around but now am kinda feeling cheap myself - what do you think? It would also save on carrying the gifts back in my luggage as its only me and the boys carrying everything!! :wiggle:

It doesn't matter. I would do it, I think they're happy to receive anything at all, and therefore, should be grateful. It doesn't have to be 100% disney, just as long as it is something Disney.
We're greedy and bring nothing home to anyone, then again, my family's family lives in Florida. We should be the one having the receiving.

I definitely think it's ok :)
There's no reason to worry about finding gifts when you're on holiday and your solution sounds like a good way of making sure people get nice gifts without the worry!

Its definetly ok... especially because it will save you money and also the hassle of carrying everything across the pond
Also, I have found that stuff inside WDW is far more expensive.. for example last August I got an Ariel princess dress for 35USD at the Disney Store, and a similar one was 55USD inside WDW, so I got the 35USD one.... :D

Ok.....seeing as it's confession time  ....last visit, I brought back 3 of those character head pyjama cases/pillows. You know the ones I mean, don't you? I brought 2 Minnie and one Piglet. The recipients loved them....they were thrilled :excited: well, maybe not that thrilled... ..that's better.
Only, I bought them from a Disney Store in the UK  I knew what I wanted to bring back but, they are quite big so I cheated. There....forgive me for I have sinned :p

I think it's a great idea - as long as it's Disney, they'll be happy to believe it came from WDW!

Windbag, I don't think its such a bad thing what you're doing. In fact I admire you for your ingenuity! If it makes you feel better say something like 'Here is a little something for you' when you hand over the pressie as opposed to 'Here is something we brought back for you'. That way no lies have been told! We all need to watch the pennies and you are doing that whilst making sure everyone gets a gift!

Last time we were at WDW I managed to pick up some of fancy tins with the "Tree of Life" on at Character Corner for somelike $1 each. When I got home I filled them with American style cookies from Sainsburys and they were very well received by their recipients and they were none the wiser that the biscuits came from the local supermarket and still had a nice tin when the biscuits were gone that had originally come from Florida. I think most people appreciate the gesture of a gift wherever it comes from and if they don't then perhaps they don't deserve one

Anothe great idea, thanks Linda - I think ive even got a couple of old but good condition tins that weve eaten the toffees from at home - even cheaper!! Er, no, now im even sounding stingy to myself!!
Glad everyone else thinks its not a particularly evil thing to do - and Isafari, glad I could be your confessor!!!!
