I didn't set out to go to this show. I got side tracked by a timeshare person at Universal Studios. He was nice and thought I was 24 :hehe: and Alysia's sister. Anyway, I agreed to go tour the Orange Lake Country Club the next morning for free tickets to this show.
I'm a timeshare pro and have no problems saying no. Orange Lake was quite nice but I have no need for another one. They seemed very sad that I wouldn't buy
We had a reservation for the 8pm show on Fri night. We were told to get there at 7pm. The venue is right off International Drive and was easy to find. We got there at 6:45pm and there were tons of people already there! No problems using the vouchers the timeshare people gave us. We did upgrade for an extra $5 per person. They gave us some postcards. We were hustled in and had our picture taken.
There is a pre-show and buffet. This is included in the show cost. The buffet has chips and salsa, waldorf salad, fresh fruit, 2 kinds of pasta salad, salad and a few other things I am forgetting. They also had servers set up to serve meatballs and ravioli with marinara or alfredo sauce.
There were at least three places to purchase alcoholic beverages. I did buy Captain Sebastian's brew in a pirate monkey head container  I can also keep spare change in there too :D The drink was good. Very similar to a kungaloosh.
There is also a giftshop, a pirates museum (this was pretty interesting), and a tarot card reader ($10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under). The pre-show was entertaining.
We were then called in to line up per color. They give you colored tickets with a number on them. We were in the green section and in the very first row. We had to tie the green crepe paper around our heads to show our support for our pirate. We also got very cool paper pirate hats to wear. Alysia says I looked silly but I was cool I tell you!
The show includes dinner. It was fine, certainly not gourmet cuisine. We were asked if we wanted chicken and shrimp or chicken and beef. We chose chicken and shrimp. We got half a rotisserie chicken (it was pretty big) and some sort of shrimp in sauce. Also there were veggies, rice and a salad (ranch dressing was the only option). Unlimited soft drinks, wine and beer. I don't drink either wine or beer so I can't give a review of those. The people behind us sure seemed to enjoy the beer.
There were lots of opportunities for audience participation and they asked for volunteers throughout the show. We had the green pirate. He was pretty acrobatic and he took his shirt off during the show. I liked our pirate :D The show was entertaining and we had a good time.
You may be asking why I chose this particular dinner show? Well, I didn't reallyhave much of a choice. We have AP's to Disney and Universal so we didn't need tickets to those parks. I can't go to any of the other dinner shows because I am allergic to horses (at least in an enclosed space) and this was the only show with no horses.
