if there is a website for any of the bakeries at disney that does cakes?
I need an amazing 1st b-day cake for my nephew. My sister (does anyone want to trade?) wants to make sure the cake is fabulous enough before we get there so that we can make alternate plans if we need to. She always goes nuts over the kids' birthdays but she's really going overboard this time. I think it's because he's the last one and all (although that's what she said about the 1st two.:rotfl: )

thanks

mistybeatle~ I'm not sure about a website . I do know from what other members have posted that Publix does beautifu; cakes . It's a grocery store right within the vicinity of Disney and I did read that you were driving . Congratulations, BTW, on finally getting your trip put together . That is Great ! Also, the Grand Floridian does cakes .

Take a look at this thread http://www.wdisneyw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34134&highlight=cake+grand+floridian for more on the Grand Floridian cake... I hear that this was $25? I'm sure someone will be here to confirm or correct me :D

I looks delicious though doesn't it?

Ok, next trip I am going to Goodings for a cake. That is beautiful! And the motorcycle theme would flip my Triumph riding husband out! He'd love it too. I would have thought since they have there own florist that delivers to the room that they might have their own bakery too for special needs that might do room delivery. Guess not.

I know, i showed that cake to my crazy motorcycle loving dad and that's the cake he wants to get levi. Had to remind him it's not his birthday!

I was just at Wal-mart doing a little grocery shopping & they had the same motorcycle cake there!! I couldn't believe it. It was a big sheet cake for $15.88. Now I'm kind of bummed......

Goodings is going to be exhorbitant in price compared to Publix.

Publix cakes are absolutely beautiful and you have nearly unlimited selection of what you want. They taste super too, and I'm not even much of a cake eater.

The cost is very reasonable.

The Mickey head cake at the Boardwalk is $25. It's small and single layer. It is quite cute, but you'll get much more cake for your money (and again, just as nice taste, if not better) from Publix.

Walmart does cakes too, but they are half as nice tasting as Publix.

If I were to do a cake during a trip I would want it to be something special, not something you can walk into walmart in Barboursville, WV & find. That's why I was a little bummed when I saw the same cake pictured in this thread there. I wouldn't want to pay a fortune but would be willing to pay more than normal just to get something "special".
