We are going to Disneyworld on 30 MArch, and my son is going to be 8 the next day - I want to make it special - any one got ideas? Never been before so its bound to be great I know. Also we are in a party of 14 aged 5 to 70!

Hi Digger  and :welcome: to the boards. First couple of things that spring to mind are get your son a birthday badge/pin from guest services, this will get him noticed by Disney Characters and Cast Members in the parks. Then maybe consider booking a Character breakfast or Dinner. I would suggest Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort for a boy. You will need to book ahead for a party of 14 so ask if you need any more help or info on doing this. :D

I agree, Chef Mickey's is a great place for a birthday breakfast! He will get a little cake and be sung "Happy Birthday" to!

When you're in one of the shops in the parks, ask one of the Cast Members if they have a special phone call for the birthday boy - when I was there I had a special call from Goofy wishing me happy birthday! Of course, they may do this anyway if they notice his birthday badge/pin.

Welcome to the boards!

Hi, digger. If you are using the monorail that day ask if he (and you) can ride up front with the driver. It's great fun and he will get a little 'certificate'.

Wow, thanks so much for your help! I have also been told about a boat on the canal - is that worth doing - and also, can I wait to book up the Charactor meal until we get there or should I book before we go?

I agree that Chef Mickeys is a great place to celebrate a birthday. My DD celebrated her 10th birthday at Chef Mickeys back in 2002. You should book your Pritory seating before you go, three months before because they do get packed. I also recomend doing it first thing in the morning and then taking a monerail to MK. My daughter even got to ride in the front with the captin(cant remember what they are called the people who drive it) on her birthday. :) :)
