I had to base all my PS planning for my upcoming first ever trip to WDW around last years hours for May. I tried to leave as little down to chance as possible, but my biggest concern was the way I had planned my trip to Californian Grill at the Contemporary.
We are relying on Disney transport (staying at POFQ) and the plan involved dining at the Californian Grill, then heading back to MK for Spectromagic and Wishes. Luckily Spectromagic has fallen on the right night, so on Tuesday 17th May I'll be dining at 6.30pm which gives ample time to have a leisurely meal (perhaps even a little tour of the Contemporary) before heading back to MK for Spectromagic at 9pm and Wishes at 10pm :D
So excited I just felt I had to share that with you all :wiggle:
Must say though, especially as a first timer, such a plan would never even have been thought of without the knowledgeable folk on this board - thank you all

I found out yesterday that I will not get to see Spectromagic AT ALL on my trip.
They are nut running it at all between April 27-May 3. Since "EVERYTHING"
starts on May 5th we are missing ALOT. I wish I would have known about all of that when I booked the trip..we could have waited a week. Then again, maybe we'll also be missing out on the long lines and extra people who go for the 50th Anniversary stuff.
Any chance we'll also miss out on the bugs?

Erm.....I originally chose this time of year to go (14 nights from May 15th) as I though crowds would be "moderate"! Do people think crowds are going to be much bigger at this tim ebecause of the celebrations?

I don't know if more people are expected. I really don't even know what kind of crowds to expect for my date, I'm just trying to look on the "bright side" of missing out on the parade etc. I can't imagine it could make THAT big of a difference for your trip but maybe one of the "experts" will have more info for you. (I wish I could smuggle one of them in with me in my suitcase!)

I don't think the celebrations will effect the crowds because they run for so long.
Great news about your plan coming together Ad.! We had a lovely meal at CG, hope you do too.

Candy,
Looks like we might miss it too - the way our PSs and other plans are - I don't think we can fit it in - I knew something would have to give - I can't believe they schedule it as infrequently as they do....http://www.wdisneyw.com/ubb/confused.gif
Oh well, we are doing lots of other fun stuff! We leave on the 5th - that wasn't my choice - that was work! I'm hoping we can sneak into "Soarin" on the morning of our last day - as our transfer doesn't pick us up til 2.30pm... here's hoping....
