Hi there people, how easy is it to get in touch with a virgin rep even if you don't go to the welcome meeting?? Has anyone used the dtd check in? how many hours before your flight can you check your luggage in? or is it just as easy to go to the airport and do it there? Also has anyone used the twilight check in service at gatwick? Also last question (i promise) do people who have booked virgin premiun eccomey get their own check in desk:confused: :rotfl: thanks people

We used the DTD check in a couple of months back. I think it doesn't open until 8am but some one may be along to correct me on that  You can check your cases in any time after it opens, no matter what time your flight is later in the day. We checked in about 8.30am for a flight at 8.40pm. When we asked, they told us to be at the airport half an hour before the flight was to be called. This meant we had the whole day to do what we wanted....a huge improvement on the previous trip where we chose not to bother with it
We also used the twilight check in on our way out to Orlando. We stayed at the Gatwick Hilton overnight and then flew to Orlando the next morning. We just made it in time for the check in - it closes at 9pm prompt. Once again, it saved us time.

I'd be interested if anyone could answer the questrion about how easy it is to get in contact with a Virgin rep if you don't go to the Welcome Meeting.
I have booked Cirque Du Solei and Planet Hollywood meal through Virgin - I emailed them to as when I could get the tickets and they replied "if you do not intend to go to the welcome meeting you need to call a Virgin Rep once there to arrange a meeting with them to pick up and arrange the tickets"
I have since replied saying is it not possible to arrnge to have them picked up at hotel checkin (together with the Ultimate Length Of Stay tickets we get at that point), but haven't as yet had a reply.

When we went on a Virgin package a few years ago, we were given a leaflet with local phone numbers to call a Virgin rep. This came along with the tickets and vouchers etc.
As far as how easy it is to contact them, I can`t really say as we did not need to get in touch.

When you get the welcome pack, there is a whole host of useful numbers in there. You will get the pack at the airport.

Hi ref the welcome pack at the airport - we are thinking of making our own way to our hotel (by quicksliver) and not using virgin transport, would i still be able to get the welcome pack via the airport? or would they leave it at my hotel? If i have to get my welcome pack from the airport do they have a separate desk for it to be collected? last time i went to wdw with mytravel and they had one desk and one queue for people to get their transfer buses and for people to get their cars so you can imagine how big and long this line was, does anyone think virgin is quicker and easier? if so i will probably take the transfer bus?

We have got the transfer bus both times and were only waiting around 10 minutes or so. If you decide not to go on the bus, still get your pack from that desk though. I have never had to queue there (and that was in mid summer), there never seems to be anyone at the desk.

Our first couple of trips we were given a timetable for the days the reps would be at our hotel, but have had nothing like this recently. The wecome meetings are everyday so you can always catch a rep there on a morning.

Hi
I'm flying out with Virgin on Friday (:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )and am planning on using twlight check in on thursday as have heard it will save time. Also booked Virgin transfers at the other end however when we got our tickets through last week they included Mears vouchers - are these just a precaution in case there isn't a Virgin bus?
Going back we are planning to use DTD check in so we have the rest of the day free - does anyone know if we would have to go back to the hotel for the transfer back to the airport?
Any help much appreciated

Well, just to update you all on my emails to Virgin...
First I asked when and where we pick up tickets, telling them that I have no intention of going to the welcome meeting. I was told that I don't have to attend the welcome meeting - our Disney Park tickets will be picked up from the hotel check-in desk, whist our other tickets (Cirque Du Solei and Planet Hollywood meal) we would have to pick up from a rep.
I replied asking if those tickets could be made available at the hotel desk as well, as we already know the date/time we want to attend these. Virgin replied that we must arrange a time to meet a rep when we are there, and then we can discuss times/dates dependent on availability.
I think this is a bit bad really - after all, when booking the holiday on line, I actually have to choose particular dates for the Cirque Du Solei and Planet Hollywood meal. I assumed these would be the dates we would get, and have made lots of plans around this. If there is very limited availability when we get there I will not be best pleased - surely Virgin should make their policy towards the tickets much clearer than they do????
We now have to arrange to meet a rep whilst there. We arrive on a Sunday and are there for two weeks, and intended to do Cirque and PHollywood on the second Thursday, this should hopefully give enough time to arrange it. I just hope that the reps have sufficient flexibility in their schedules to see us on one of our days away from the parks...
I really wish I'd booked the excursions direct now, it would have saved such a lot of hassle

Its not a Virgin bus that will take you anyway, it's a Mears one, which is why you have Mears vouchers
Going back we are planning to use DTD check in so we have the rest of the day free - does anyone know if we would have to go back to the hotel for the transfer back to the airport?
We went back to the hotel but I believe you can call Mears and get them to collect you at DTD. We were on site, so it was just as easy to go back to the hotel an use our refillable mug one last time.

Hi ref the mears vouchers, will there be a virgin rep at the airport to 'greet' us and tell where to get the bus? also is it the same for the return to the hotel or is it up to us to contact mears to get them to our hotel (asmov) to get us? or will be arranged via our travel agent (im not brave enough to do it online yet!)

There are Virgin reps scattered around the second baggage claim, you won't miss them. Just in case you do, just to the left of the second baggage claim, there is the Virgin desk (on it's own - again, you can't miss it). Just go there to see what your bus number is.
The return leg will already be arranged, and the time will be written in your pack that you will get at the airport.
Anything else, please let me know :D
