AP Rates vs MYW Plans

We're holding out hope for some good AP rates for early 2006 that might just be enough motivation to buy an AP for one of us. If we go this route though, this will opt us out of getting the MYW plan since everyone under the plan has to get the same ticket/meal plan, right?

Can you buy the meal plan without tickets? How could you use the AP rates and still do the MYW package?

The way it stands at the moment:

Everyone in your party must purchase the dining plan.

Disney is offering the Disney Dining Experience for AP holders. The cost for AP holders is $50. It is a 20% discount for up to 10 people. It is also good for free valet parking while you dine at a resort restaurant.
